I was at F.A.O. today for a photoshoot and had a very interesting encounter with a fan. He was very friendly and enthusiastic, and he asked to do the Monkee Walk with me, which never gets old for fans. All of that was fine, but.
He was with his daughter, but he sort of left her alone to come talk to me, which wasn't cool with me. So I called the little girl over. She was about eight or nine. I asked her if she knew who I was and she shook her head. When her dad said that I'm "the daughter of a Monkee", she crinkled her nose at me and said that I "don't look like Curious George".
I love how honest kids are. So I bought her a plush Curious George.
The dad was acting jealous because of that, so I gave him an autograph. It never ceases to amaze me how strange people suddenly act just because someone quasi-famous is around. Voices are raised, posture is shifted... Everyone seems to forget that we're all people.

P.S. When we meet, please don't ask to do the Monkee Walk with me.
