Ok, right now the weather outside BITES! I'm supposed to be driving to NYC with my 15 yr old daughter and her bestfriend tomorrow and sightseeing. I'm praying for at least gray skies and no rain BUT if it does by chance rain we are still headed there. Who knows perhaps there will be less people and it wont be total washout.

I've never driven that ( Read more... )

Have fun in NYC! The easiest way to go (from someone who periodically gets lost on the way to work) is to take 90W and then follow the big green signs that say "New York City." You wind up on about 4 different highways, but it really is the easiest way to go. Plus, you'll wind up going through Hartford instead of Providence, and traffic between Boston and Providence is HORRENDOUS! Plus, if you can find your way around Boston, NYC will be kid's stuff. They actually made the streets in the city go straight *shock*. It's a big grid. You'll be fine. :-) And have fun!

I believe that is the map that I printed out, we are staying in Newark at the Holiday Inn which is about 10 miles from NYC. The prices were drastially different LOL!
I looked at some of the maps online and it seems like it will pretty straight forward...everything we want to see is one general area so "hoofing" it should be alright...it doesnt really matter, its a day out with the girls, goofing off and no boys ROFL!!
Thanks for the heads up though..thankfully Im pretty good at reading the signs and finding my way around...watch I said that and I'll wind up lost Giggle

I think I've stayed at that Holiday Inn! lol....it's not bad. And definitely cheaper than anything in the City. And the no boys part...this is why the Super Witches have Girls Night Out once a week. Have a fantastic trip, and FCOW will be there when you get back!

oh I know for sure FCOW will be there.
The girls have earned the no boys weekend..mom doesnt get too many girls only things so its sure to be alot of fun!
BTW..the girls want to know if that holiday inn has a pool? I said I didnt think so but they are hoping for a swim after being in the city all day.

I got a decent rate thru HOTWIRE at 80.00 plus tax, I was psyched considering the cheapest I could find in the city was 200.00!

I don't think that hotel has a pool. I certainly don't remember one, but swimsuits don't take up much space, so I'd take them just in case. But, pools take up a lot of space, which means there aren't a whole lot of them in the NYC area.

LOL. I told them to bring them just in case but I dont recall seeing one when I was checking out the website. They had a huge workout gym but I dont think a pool was included. Thats alright, they will be dogtired by the time they get back tomorrow night LOL
