Not sure about this

There is apparently a pirated copy of DH available in PDF form. Some folks I know are diving into it already ( Read more... )

Uh oh, that might be the bell that sends me off-line until Saturday night, when I'm finished with the thing. Ring Ring, don't get spoiled. (That's what the bell sounds like.) Maybe I'll just write on paper for a few days...the old-fashioned way. Hmm, novel idea...
Anyway, that is horrifying. One more thing for me to stress out about this week...what day is it again? Gah!
Thanks for the alert! :)

I know! I wish I hadn't heard about it. I guess this is why people really do go off-line. I'm glad to hear someone else is gonna do it the old-fashioned way. ;-)

And as for writing, I just brought home a tablet of paper from work today. Hmmm.

I really want to post my last pre-DH drabbles, though. Ack! I think I'll just stay off more than I have and check in only at places I feel very safe (does such a place exist? No.) I'll have to sneak in a post without opening my eyes.
Yay for practicing our handwriting. It's good for us.

I think you should post 'em anyway. I'm not sure I can stand to be totally off-line, anyway.

Crapola, this is the second reference to it that I've seen. I'm buying the damned book on the weekend, when I will have finished re-reading the already published books. On a timetable, here.

I don't think I have the will power to go off-line completely, but I think I'll be checking specific communities, not reading comments, and not doing much general browsing. Spoilers being the devil, and all that.

*will be available for squeeing/freaking on the weekend*

I don't mind spoilers, but I'm holding out for the actual book. First, because I can't be arsed to read 800 pages of anything onscreen. Second, because I have three sizable projects I have to finish instead of reading. Third, because there's a lot not adding up quite right about what I've heard/seen about the version in circulation, and until I have the actual book in my hands, I'd just as soon assume it's because it's an extraordinarily convincing forgery rather than things actually failing to add up.

In short, you won't be alone in squeeing/freaking this weekend. Plus there's also quite a few people who are already offline, or who'll be reading it in offline gatherings, or who have other stuff going on, so they won't be posting their reactions until after the weekend as well.

I'm sure I, along with everyone, will be doing lots of both this weekend. :) I think there are so many things going on in the book that the furor will last quite a while! I'm dling the book, but mainly I want to read fluffyllama's chapter synopses.*g* I don't really want to read the whole thing online, but I may get a start on it.

Would have been nice if everyone could have left the starting gate at about the same time. I feel like now when I want to squee or freak over the weekend, everyone will be "yeah, read it already, yesterday's news."

Agreed. I don't mind being spoiled, and even wouldn't mind reading it, but the pages are really damn blurry and I just can't read that much onscreen! But half my flist is already talking about it, and I feel woefully behind. :( And the other half has shut down and gone offline. Dammit, I thought I still had a week to post a few other things - leftover ficlets and OotP reviews and such, but I guess no one will be interested. Bah!

I know! I wanted five more days of wild speculation, not to mention a chance to reread HPB. I sounds like there are a number of us who are going to stick with our original plans and read the book when it's released.

I think we should form a Circle of Denial and just pretend there is no PDF version out there.

Besides, I want to read it from the actual book.
