okay.  so basically a lot has been having really fast.  maybe too fast.  apartment details were finalized, the lease was signed and this friday we'll be able to start working on everything.  the apartment is gorgeous - there are a few things to work on (painting, etc) but it's cool since we can design everything however we want.  there are actually sliding bamboo shades for the windows, hardwood floors, etc, and our landlord (brother of the late jeff thomas) is allowing us to re-do the rooms however we would like within reason.  and yes, we're taking over what was once jeff's apartment (!)  sadly i have never met him but he seems like he was a really cool guy.  (i've known rick since i was a little girl btw.)  its a little strange taking over basically a celebrity's pad.. he was def a local celebrity in rhode island.  there's a wonderful garden out back with grapes and cherries to eat and romp in and everyone in the neighborhood are offbeat artists.. so we fit right in.  tina & i were walking down the street for less than 3 minutes when people literally stopped us to say 'hi.'  the 3-guys across the street are punk rockers (who stop practice@ 9 pm on the dot apparently lol), the two people next door are from russia, the girl up the road is a wiccan who makes/sells her own jewelry and our housemates in the apartment above us are chiefs from newport.  over on broadway are cute little cafes and an indies movie theatre.  how cool!  it feels so good to not be stared at like back in pa.  we never fit in..  i think this place will quickly become our safe little haven.

many trips to ikea up in mass to pick out what to buy!!

tomorrow gotta add charlie to my bank account, change id, etc.

once the furniture is all set, electricity on, etc, would any local peeps like to come over and for a housewarming party?  dinner on me of course!
