had the yummiest korean food like, ever yesterday. i almost always forget that korean food is low-carb heaven. had this spicy watercress stew with bean sprouts and garlic.
and. what is it with filipinos going berserk when they 'sense' another filipino amoung them? charlie & i were eating our delicious grub when these two moderately choco girls and guy sat at the next table over. (<--- not a tan choco) they kept glancing over and i kept glancing over like, "MY PINAY SENSES ARE TINGLING".. until i heard the guy start speaking to one of the girls which absolutely confirmed their pinoyness. when i stood up to go pay the check, charlie later told me that the guy looked like he was about to make a jump for me and ask if i was pinay. rofl this happens so often. it's like one day at starbucks this guy was taking my order.. and the next thing he says (very) randomly is, "hey um.. are you filipino by any chance?" i start laughing and he's like "so am i!" it also used to happen back home in the city too.. i'd be on the bus and some random person would randomly ask if i'm filipino. rofl i've found that the half black variety is kinda rare.. i guess everytime someone asks me, it's like stumbling upon a lake in a dessert (vice versa for me as well!) it's really difficult to find people to relate to.. especially when the 'mix' isn't so common in most places.. when i find other half asian/half black or half asian/half rican, it's like.. "WHOAH" and i get all excited even if i never talk to that person again. i guess the aspect of finding someone else like me with the possibility of a similar life is just 100% exciting. blackanese are out there man. lol
& omigod. tomorrow it's gonna be 90+ degrees. i'm thinking of packing up and making one last trip to the beach. the end of summer is approaching and i'd rather eat it up while i can. raystown is calling. o^___^o
