Seems like time for an update, doesn't it?
Time seems to be going by so fast. I can't believe I've been here almost two weeks. I wish I could stay longer but I have to be back at school by August 14th. I don't feel prepared for the upcoming school year in the least. So much to do, such an important year. Basically a large portion of the rest of my life will be decided within the next 365 days, such a scary thought.
But enough of that for now, on to the Pura Vida. Costa Rica is still amazing. I've met some pretty interesting people and it sucks cause not all of them go to my school so I probably won't see a them ever again after this trip. Today we went to an indigenous community called Boruca and I had such a great time. We got to go to the local school and the kids performed for us this dance in which someone dressed up as a bull kills all the indigenous people who are other kids dressed up in masks and later they come to life to kill the bull. The bull reprensents the Spaniards that invaded hundreds of year ago. As I was watching it I was stuck by the cute kids and how adorable it was but at the same time I was saddened but what the show represented.
We were also lucky to enough to have a local woman show us how she makes all of her crafts. I spent A LOT of money here. I won't say how much lest you judge me but it was a lot...BUT...I got the coolest mask ever in the history of masks and I'm super excited. I mean I'm probably only in Costa Rica once (unless I decide to move here) so I decided to go for it. It's gonna look so pimp in my dorm room. I'll use it to scare the incoming freshmen into obedience.
On Saturday we leave Las Cruces Biological Station where we've been staying to stay at a hotel by Playa Zancudo. I'm going to miss this place but at the same time excited to go somewhere new. On a totally random note I'm kind of in love with the program coordinator. Not not really in love I just think he's adorable. He's also 32 and married but whatever. Actually I like him in the kind of way that Katelina likes her guitar man in that I'm excited to meet his wife and I'm sure she's really pretty and sweet too. I'm fine as long as she's worthy, lol. He was telling us about this fight he got into with this guy over the phone and he was like "I don't like it when people yell at me," but he said it so cute, like a little kid after being yelled and and with the accent, *ahh perfection*....
I don't really feel like saying anything else so I guess that'll be all for now....
