Crunchyroll lets me access up to ep 19.
So, uhhh ...
Dave thinks that maybe everyone is actually plugged into the Matrix. Considering the weird, nonsensical events that have occurred, this is as plausible as anything else.
I don't know if it is a translation problem, but I don't interpret what Eren does is transforming into a Titan. I think he somehow conjures up a Titan around himself using his blood. He merges into it at the base of the neck and pilots it there. So in essence his Titan "form" is a fleshy mech, or biological armor. (So in one sense my hypothesizing was right.)
The unusual lightness of the Titans are not being portrayed well. They look heavy. The ground trembles - and keeps me wondering how can Titans sneak up on people so easily? Shouldn't people be able to feel the vibrations, especially from runners? Based on Hanji's observations, they seem photosynthetic. Plant people generated from blood? But no evidence of chlorophyll. And no explanation of why they nom on humans. My best guess remains demoralizing bioweapon.
But ... if there is a person camping out in the neck of every Titan, how come no one has spotted the remains? It could be a well-kept secret. I like the how the series disperses the viewer info on a need to know basis. But even so, wouldn't the pilot have to come out sometime, for his/her own biological functions?
The setting continues to be strange. The outer wall was breached for five years now, and nothing has been done to reseal it. Of course, it may be a futile gesture with Kicky Titan lurking somewhere. What's odder to me is the lack of mention of the tech used to construct the walls. Why not use them to repair the damage? And Wallists are strange, too, calling the walls a Gift from God. It's as if they have forgotten walls are constructed by men - if these are supposed to be only 100 years old, that is too soon to think like this.
The female Titan is *sadistic* =(
Every time Armin or Potato Girl show up on screen I get stressed out. They have too many close calls. Jean I suspect will have a long painful career in the Survey Corps before he dies horribly.
Levi's so awesome, I am sure he'll get bitten in half soon. ;_;
