Yesterday we went to go see Sint. Here's the trailer:

It was pretty lol-worthy and a bit fucked up with some things. I liked the different explanations for Sinterklaas, especially regarding Zwarte Piet.
This is my first Dutch film, and the first film I've seen in a foreign language without subtitles. It was pretty cool and even though I know my level of Dutch has increased tremendously over the past year(s), I wasn't really sure what to expect. What if I walked in there and couldn't understand shit? What if I thought I had a better understanding of Dutch than what I did? Thankfully that didn't happen. It seems I know the language quite well, though the details can get lost on me from time to time.
I feel more confident and am excited about going deeper into Dutch culture. I always felt like an outsider looking in, trying to figure out what goes where. Now I want to be more involved, watch more movies, listen to more songs, and generally do more 'Dutch' things.
So, to all my Dutch friends, please send me your recommendations on what you think I might like. Also, I'm sorry I complain so much about this. Thanks for putting up with me.
