[Squeezing Finn's hand, Rachel beamed, readjusting the strap on her shoulder just slightly as he pushed open the doors to the school, the cold November air more welcoming than it should have been.] Date night tonight!
[Spotting Jesse's Range Rover already idling at the curb out in front of McKinley, Rachel waved, urging Finn to speed up. Opening

Hey. [ he leant forward slightly into the space between the two front seats, fingers tapping a quick greeting against Jesse's shoulder. That was as much of a PDA he could hope for while they were still outside the school ] Yeah, sorry, it's kinda my fault too. We were talking about dance rehearsals for the next couple weeks. It's gonna be intense.

[Pulling back from the kiss with Rachel, Jesse nodded at Finn and smiled before it slipped slightly, seeing how folded up and pretzel-like he was sitting there. He rolled his eyes and tapped Rachel's thigh lightly.] Give the poor guy some room, Rach.
Do you want some help going over things? Schue's ability to explain dance only goes so far... [He looked to Finn in the rearview mirror as he said it, shrugging.]

[Reaching down, she scooted her seat forward as far as it would go while still giving her feet some room to occupy, before reaching behind her to put her seatbelt on.] Better? Finn, remember to buckle up!
[Sighing at his comment about dance rehearsals, Rachel shook her head.] Finn is actually getting a lot better, not that Mr. Schue has been any help in that regard whatsoever. [Turning to look at them, she smiled.] Well? What's our plan for our date tonight?

[ clipping his seatbelt in, Finn met Jesse's gaze in the mirror with a smile. It was true, Jesse was a much better teacher than Mr. S and had proved this on multiple occasions when he'd helped Finn out ] Yeah, okay. That'd be awesome. There's a couple of bits I just can't get. And I dunno about getting much better, Rach. More like just stumbling along in the wake of you guys still.
[ he shrugged one shoulder ] My vote's still for bowling, but it's not my turn to choose.

...does that mean it's my turn to choose? [Jesse always lost track of when it was up to him, but he'd love to not have to bowl tonight. Even though he was getting almost good enough to beat Finn.]

Hey, don't knock the bedroom stuff.

How about Thai food from that one place by my apartment and then...a movie at my place? [He looked to Finn as he said the bit about the food, knowing he was still working on expanding his horizons culinarily speaking.] Is that...acceptable to everyone?
Reply
[Looking to Finn, she shrugged.] Sound good? Not... the bit about skipping the movie, I mean. That's obviously negligible.

It was hard, sometimes. They'd worked through their issues and he and Jesse were okay with each other - more than okay, really - but Finn would be lying if he said he didn't sometimes still feel insecure. The idea of going somewhere obviously special to Rachel and Jesse made him a little nervous, but he did his best to ignore it, figuring they could just make their own memories there. Of course, while this thought process was going on, his concern and eventual change of mind flashed across his face, so even though he tried to act casual, they could probably figure out what he was thinking ]Sure. I haven't tried Thai yet, right? And if the movie's gonna be one of your musicals then we' ( ... )

I don't think you've had Thai yet. If it helps you can just think of it as a different kind of...Chinese. [Jesse had gotten used to oversimplifications like that, because even though he knows he could explain it all to Finn and have him get it, the comparisons just save a lot of time.
And, truthfully, he expected the movie to be a bigger issue because at the end of the day, food is food, but a musical is something Finn has to sit through for two hours. That's a little more of a battle and sometimes takes some...convincing.] We can all choose a movie together, but...majority rules.
[He shrugged smugly before turning in the seat and putting the car in gear, starting down the road.]

[Smiling sheepishly at Jesse, Rachel shook her head.] I say we skip the movie. It's been a while since we had any privacy...

[ he leant forward to kiss Rachel back, embarrassed to be caught out, then sat back again before Jesse could bitch that he was blocking his view in the mirror ]
It's cool. At least you guys already know it's a decent restaurant, right?

[Jesse nodded at Finn in the rearview, agreeing with Rachel. That was part of why this worked so well. Jesse wasn't that good at reading Finn, not like Rachel was at least, and he never would have known that he was bothered by that. It was such a little thing.
Jesse took Rachel's hand with a smile.] I guess you're right. There's plenty of other things we can do.

[Squeezing Jesse's hand, Rachel couldn't help but throw him a grateful smile. Jealousy was pushed aside so easily now, and a part of her had to wonder whether it had to do with the fact that the two of them were connecting, too, not just both of them with her. If they split up, she reckoned, it wouldn't just be them being upset about losing her-- they'd be upset about losing each other, too.
That might have been one of her favorite parts, looking from one to the other with nothing but love in her eyes, happy for their newfound appreciation of each other.] Since we got interrupted last time, maybe this time we can... spend more time in the bedroom. [Trying to keep quiet while they had sex at the Hummel/Hudson household had been a disaster, not to mention that Finn's full-sized bed did little to help the issue. Jesse's California-king on the other hand...]

[ Finn sniggered, remembering the incident. At the time it had been super frustrating, especially since none of them managed to actually get off and he'd ended up being horny for hours, but looking back, it was pretty funny. Why they'd thought his bed would be big enough, he had no idea, but there was a reason he preferred going to Rachel's or Jesse's places for this kind of thing ]
I am totally okay with that. Spending more time in the bedroom is never a bad thing.
