Hello again! I would immediately shoot into a detailed comment but UH WOW I can't even begin simply because I know this game too well. I definitely recommend maxing out all of your D-links; it's relatively easy and you can even use them on some boss fights, although the game's a jerk about which ones.
Terra's my very favorite, although I liked all three of them. Aqua's not too annoying for a mage, and she's the most balanced out of the three. Her dodges react the most quickly as well as her defense being relatively high, considering what she is. Ven's actually the weakest since he's a fragile speedster; I was hating his mode because it was so much harder to get through than Terra's (on Standard, to boot!).
Oh, I must do an annoying edit, because I'm being quite rude. Hi, I'm Ane. I felt like a creeper knowing your name even though it's clearly stated in the nice field right there/Elle mentioned it in her post, so now I can at least even it out.
LMAO yeah uh please don't because I'm still on my first playthrough fjaklsjdf I definitely planned on maxing those out at some point, probably on my second run. I definitely abused it during Terra's fight with the spindle boss.
I like all three of them, but I have such a soft spot for closet derps. ;A; But hhhh I didn't know that about Ven, no one's mentioned anything about his storymode when I talk to them. Thanks for the head's up.
LMAO IT'S OKAY, nice to talk to you Ane o\ SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG FOR ME TO RESPOND I was trolling someone in another journal jflasdjf /priorities
Trolling can be an art form but ahem, it's no big deal! Just watching TV and handling business.
Yeah, don't even worry, I figured you'd be on your first playthrough. I was one of those uberweirdos that got the JPN copy because I have enough of the language under my belt to manage the story mode, so I've got months of experience. Terra's actually even more of a derp in this language than he was in the original; they made all of them a lot more casual.
Ven's story-mode is fine (as someone mentioned, there's a recommended playing order, and he's the middle), but I was so annoyed with how little HP and defense he had that I figured other people needed to be warned! I love the speedsters, but he's my least favorite kind. Once you get a hang of melding items you'll definitely need to buff him up. You can practice with Terra, but he doesn't need anything special, even in Proud Mode. I've just been buffing him up for the heck of it.
I don't think it's really weird, tbh. We've all been waiting four years for this game and we've all been practically salivating at any information we get, so ain't nothing wrong with that.
But jfalksjf oh jeez okay, yeah. I'll definitely work on that when I get to him, thanks. I'll practice with Terra just to get the hang of it. I'm definitely a lot better with the brute force fighters with a lot of HP because in a big fight, I get. so forgetful to even cure/potion myself until I get way low so a low HP speedster will probably be the death of me for this game.
D'aw, what an adorable Hiccup! I really enjoyed reading that, even if I cracked up at the end.
Yeah, that was pretty much my reasoning. I had always figured S-E was going to release the game in September, so a friend bought it for me for my birthday (at the start of the year). Unfortunately for a lot of other gamers, I was right--way to delay, S-E! It's a little weird to see everyone finally being able to play, but it's nice, too.
No prob at all--maybe this is just because the JPN buttons were flipped or because I'm dumb but I'm still having issues even attacking or jumping with Terra, and Proud mode loves stupid moments like that. I think the combo for HP buffs I've been using is maxed Cure + max Cure + whatever does HP buffs (it was called Uroi Crystal in the original), so hopefully that's still helpful. But I know what you mean with the brute force guys--I always play as Ike or somebody like his type in Brawl/any fighting game where there's no speedsters or I get bored of them. It's nice to be a fictional wrecking ball.
