The Aftermath
This is probably the most emotional Cosfest I've ever had. But it's over and done with at last and I have no regrets. I'm actually happy that we managed to show off our 2nd performance at the very least which I personally feel is our better performance compared to the 1st one.
The feedback we got for improvement was, our series choice was probably our biggest disadvantage as our costumes were quite simple and not ehh "flashy" enough which we totally agree with but our performance was WCS level so we're happy with that at least! Our biggest problem however was that our costume sewing skills isn't high level enough to challenge flashy crazy detailed costumes yet which is why we decided on Air Gear which had performance potential, plus we've not seen any Air Gear cosplay team actually perform on stage before. Basically we just banked everything on performance which I agree is our biggest mistake. But hey lesson learnt! And we had fun! Plus we do agree that Skye and Jill's performance was winning material! So congratulations astellecia & Jill for winning the Singapore preliminaries and please make Singapore proud when you go over to Nagoya! =D
Our first performance was okay despite a couple of screwups here and there. Feedback we got was that it was confusing, alot of people didn't even know there was a video playing and if they did, they weren't sure which to look at. I was actually pretty demoralized after that and honestly thought that we didn't stand a chance at the top 5. But when the results were announced and the five teams were announced, there was a cliffhanger moment when the emcee suddenly said, "BUT we have a surprise! There was a TIE and so we have ONE MORE team entering the preliminaries!" at this point I was O_O and staring at his mouth when he went "TEAM FFF" the minute he went FF my jaw dropped before he actually finally said "TEAM FOUR" and omg I really wanted to die.
We were the 2nd to perform for the prelims mostly coz we were already ready and on standby so we did our best! I'm screwing myself over bloody misremembering the dance steps for the LAST BIT but at least I managed to follow through. I also actually managed to WEAR MY SKATES IN TIME TO COME OUT ON CUE considering that was the first time I did it that day!!! I was freaking SLOW coz the blades were damn loose since I didn't have time to tighten it but I suppose at least the effect was there? D: Feedback for this was that it was alot better and more dramatic but unfortunately I think alot of people didn't know what was going on. And I'm sad that there was no reaction when I ripped the dress of raydance D:
Prior to the prelims, although I already felt like all hope was lost, part of me still wanted to at least show of our 2nd performance that we worked so hard on. Considering I had just (a)injured myself REALLY badly(more on that later), (b)there was suddenly this huge risk of my crimson tide coming so I was SUPER emotional that whole period before the results were announced. So I really have to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO SNOWHEART AND TAKAHAN OF SCC FOR ALLOWING US TO SHOW OFF WHAT WE'RE MADE OF!!! Really, from the bottom of our hearts we thank you for giving us the chance to perform for the preliminaries. We may not have won but in the end the experience was worth all the time and effort we spent getting ready for the competition.
I would also like to thank ALL OF YOU WHO CAME DOWN TO SUPPORT US!!! blue_meddy, starsthatshine, sassystrawberry, erushi, aseret, yueqian, nozomi_83, nothingling, gnoserif+Katherine, Eric and of course Kevin(both of you come every year almost without fail!! XD) I'm so sorry we couldn't hang out with you more but really, all of you being there meant alot to us! Hope I didn't miss anyone out!! D: Much thanks also to those who were rooting for us~! <3!! You know who you are! XD
Also special thanks of course to peteylin & kakitaraisho for being our excellent t-shirt ninjas! We loves you and without you we wouldn't have been able to pull off our first performance! Thank you so much!!

You'd think that this was stuck on after the whole event was over for aching muscles right?
But noooo....I actually pulled my left thigh muscles REALLY REALLY badly after REHEARSAL... =_=
When I pulled it the first time I knelt down on blades I felt the sharp pain, flinched and in my mind I went "SHIT FUCK OW" but I continued to follow through and carefully knelt down on my own the 2nd time round to finish off the whole dry run while my thigh just protested and I gritted my teeth attempting to bare with it. But by the end of the run I really just wanted to die and after getting to a chair I sat down and just wanted to curl up and hope the pain would go away... =( peteylin went to buy me a pack of 3 cold-warm muscle plasters and I ended up plastering it over my whole left thigh. It still hurt by the time we did the actual performance but it was at least slightly better =\
[edit] Crap I think I'm finally getting an alergic reaction to the plasters....D: Hopefully they go away by tomorrow.
Sigh...I'M TOO OLD FOR THIS!!! D: But hey it's over now...next stop? EOY! With a quick detour to ToyCon which I'm cos-ing with starsthatshine as Yatterman No.1 OTL
Now that Cosfest is over, I can FINALLY go back to my daily routine or rotting in front of the computer and watching Arashi variety shows or chionging dramas =D
