I'm not dead yet!

Hmm, been a bit longer than usual since I last posted. Been up to a number of things, the most time-consuming of which has been doing illustrations for "A Refugee in Oz" and prepping the book for publication. Formatting and conversion is so much fun. Got a gallery of most of the pics right here. Before I can get that out the door, I need:

• at least 10 more illos,
• the cover, which an awesome friend offered to do for me,
• to do the liddle fiddly things like title page, copyright page, yadda yadda, and
• final formatting and conversion once I have all the content and can set the layout in stone.

After that, it's a matter of uploading it and setting it all up with the printing/publishing service, ordering a proof copy, checking that and making sure it's just right, making any corrections that are needed, 20 goto 10 until it really is just right, then setting it loose... and starting the illos for the next one.

This will be an easier process for the second book, I'm sure. But for the first book I'm feeling my way around, trying to avoid goofups by doing lots of research and being very careful.
