And another thing!
Got another Oz story building up in my mind. This one's current working title is "Imposters in Oz." Here's one of the characters; I won't say whether she's a title character or not.

This is my first try with a shading technique Lar DeSouza (a longtime net.friend of mine and the awesome artist of Least I Could Do and Looking for Group) showed me at Dragon*Con. It's very different from my usual technique, and I think it has a lot of potential, particularly when it comes to distressingly fiddly stuff like patchwork. Just gotta practice it and see if I can make it work for me.
This character is very redheaded - freckles, frizzy out-of-control hair, and all that. You don't see a lot of that here, but, hey, I'm trying out new artistic techniques and trying to get used to drawing faces too. When I get more comfy with that I'll worry about hair texture and freckle density. I think the birthmark came out pretty good, at least.
