I think I have Nintendinitis - defined as my hands owie when hold game controller, so no play games until hands feel better - so I've been watching some of the movies I've bought cheap over the years and never got around to watching.
Carrie - Wow. This movie drew me in. It breaks my brain to think that I really enjoyed a Stephen King movie, but I have to be honest, I couldn't look away. I noticed the "Psycho" violin-screech effect. My mother, being a musician, told me some time ago about why that sound is so effective, and thus was used in so many movies. The split-screen effect was weird and scary, too. I can imagine what it'd be like on a huge movie screen. Brrr.
When I was in my early teens people told me I looked like the title character. Now that I've seen the movie - yeah, I did look like that, and when I part my bangs so they merge with my hair I still do, sorta-kinda. Maybe I ought to invest in a white prom dress and some karo syrup for next Dragon*Con?
Deliverance - What a strange movie. Very creepy. Many of the Appalachian-Americans - particularly the banjo-playing boy - looked like textbook
Kallikaks. I found the ending especially weird, considering the way Carrie ended.
If any ReBoot fans are still reading this, is it just me, or does Burt Reynolds's jacket look a lot like Matrix's vest, right down to the texture?
Gonna do some more chicken sketching now. Been doing scribble drafts of some pics I want to draw and one involves a flock of attack chickens. After that, I try to draw a lion.
