I love Chinese buffets.

Today I took the bus (now that I once again have MARTA service on Sundays!) down to the Northlake and tried the Chinese buffet that I've never gome to before because, I don't know, it wasn't right in my line of sight because it's behind the mall. I don't remember the name, but then I hardly ever can remember the names of Chinese buffets. They're all like "Happy Garden" or "Sunny Garden" or "Dragon Express" or "Mandarin Dragon" or whatever. It's easier to remember them by locale.

Anyway, I went there, and its pricing schedule is simple. You eat there, you get the buffet. The buffet is about $6 or $8, depending on when you eat (lunch vs. dinner) and a drink is included. Good so far.

So, I got seated and asked for chopsticks, then I went to the buffet. And... oh, dear. Three long bars with all sorts of stuff. The usual - seafood vegetable, sweet & sour chicken, steamed rice, lo mein, mongolian beef, etc. But then... crabs! Shrimp fried in the shell! breaded crab claws! Sushi! Whole baby octopi! Fish! And.. and... damn. There were LOTS of things. I only got a little sample of each item I tried, and I piled my plate high and didn't even get to a third of what was available. And then the desserts... oooh. There's the usual fruit and Jell-o and puddings and stuff, plus sesame balls and fried doughnuts and rolled pound cakes and custard tarts and way too many other things to list. Let's just say that I way overdid it, and I regret nothing!

I just missed the bus going back home, so I decided to walk. It's about 4 miles, and the buses come about 40 minutes apart. I could just wait around at the bus stop, or I could burn off some of those crab rangoons. And I walked the whole way home in just under an hour, and the bus didn't pass me along the way. Not bad, eh?
