Why oh why can't any mailing process be done AS RELIABLY AND EFFICIENTLY in Indonesia?!
I know this is probably just going to set me off in a fit of rage...AGAIN... but let's see how many times ANY mailing process had gone terribly wrong for me once it arrives in Indonesia.
There was that one time when I got charged a bogus Rp.80,000 for a damn stupid FREE BONUS poster that comes with a CD. Because it had to come in a big huge box and of course in the crappy Indonesian customs' eyes, BIG BOX = $$$.
And then there was that other time they summoned me to pick up my Satomi Hakkenden DVD at the post office and charged me Rp.200,000.
There was also that one time when Mayumi-san (or was it Yuzuko-san?) sent that whole bundle of cheapo 2nd hand magazines from an auction purchase, and the customs people called me directly to my home to demand Rp.500,000 of bogus fees, which is also magically negotiable down to Rp.250,000?
Maybe I only get charged because I had everything mailed by services that has to go through Pos Indonesia? Not really, I ordered a magazine that one time directly from a Japanese publisher which utilizes the shipping services of UPS. At least it did arrive to my door. Except that it also came with an invoice of an additional "charge" for Rp.60,000 on top of the ALREADY PAID shipping charge. What's sad is that the magazine itself only cost 600 JPY.
There was that one time when a missing EMS package addressed to my Sudirman apartment MAGICALLY APPEARED at my home address, because APPARENTLY, Indonesian post office takes ORAL INSTRUCTIONS from my freakin' driver, who did not even produce a written letter signed by ME, THE ADDRESSEE, to forward all mails from my apartment address to my home address because my driver was lazy to drive all the way to the Central Jakarta post office. That is seriously fucked up.
And then of course most recently they failed to deliver totoro79's cards on time. My birthday card came 2 weeks late, and worse, her Chinese New Year card JUUUUST arrived to my house LAST WEEK. Like what, 2 months late?
AND WHO COULD FORGET THE MOST HORRENDOUSLY WTF POSTAL RELATED INCIDENT IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF nefretiriii's MISFORTUNES WITH POS INDONESIA:
That one time when azuzora's package was mailed off in late December and Pos Indonesia just let it SIT PRETTY for months in the post office until it fucking DROWNED in the Great Big 2007 Jakarta Flood. And they still had the AUDACITY to send me a note telling me to PICK UP 5 KGs worth of DESTROYED, SHITWATER-DRENCHED MAGAZINES, and ask me to pay freakin' Rp.7,000 for ADMINISTRATION FEES.
Ah yes, the bittersweet (mostly BITTER though) story of online shopping from Indonesia.
Erm, how did this squee post end up becoming a rant?????? XD
