Today, I had a donut. Actually, I had a donut and a half. Egads! I haven't partaken in Donut Friday in months! I had a Croissant Saturday a few weeks ago, and the past two weekends I succeeded in Quiche Sunday, but I somehow managed to quell my want for Donut Friday for a good long while. Until today. I haven't even wanted a donut in a while, but this morning as I was getting ready for work I thought to myself "man, does a donut sound good today or what?". Or what indeed. I had a very tasty meatball sandwich from Filippi's last night, too. All of the roommates were gone last night, leaving me to my own devices and home alone for the first time in...well, a really long time. I cannot remember the last time when I was the the only person home for an extended period of time. It was kind of exciting! I went for a run, sang loudly to my iPod while walking throughout the house, went and got aforementioned sandwich of deliciousness, which I came home and ate while watching Buffy, took a ridiculously long shower, and read for hours in bed. It was awesome. I was so relaxed and tired I actually fell asleep around 11 and didn't even hear anybody come home. I am very much looking forward to our ladies dinner on Sunday night. We are going to Croce's for Restaurant Week. Three courses for only $30! I am going to have myself a nice glass of Lillypilly while I am there as well. So good.
In other news, Matt is getting married in March. On my birthday. He told me about this a couple of weeks ago, and at the time I was like, well, that sucks. I won't be able to go. I told him I would probably already have plans, it being my birthday and all, to which he replied "oh, well...I hope you have fun". And then I got to thinking...I have a birthday every year. Matt will hopefully only be getting married once. And my birthday is on a Sunday, so I probably won't be doing anything on the actual day anyhow. So I made the decision to go. I am my sister's "plus one" really. I guess they had to cut down on the guest list because they moved up the date of the wedding (due to an oven/bun situation) and won't have as much money as they initially planned on. Matt sent an invitation for both Cat and I to just Cat, so basically it would be like inviting one person plus guest, minus guest, plus other invited person. Yeah. Cat didn't want to go alone, since other Matt (the asshole) is actually in the wedding party. So that is that. I am committed. They registered for baby stuff, since, well, they're already expecting. Cat is pissed and refuses to step foot in Babies R' Us, where they are registered. I personally feel funny getting baby items as a wedding gift, but I mean if that's what they want...its their wedding. We shall see how that goes. So yes, half of my birthday weekend (because by default, I get a whole weekend) will be spent down here with my San Diego friends, the other half will be spent at an...interesting...wedding and with my crazy family. But at least I get to see Cat on her birthday. That will be the first in a long time.
