Third, the world is not a friendly place. I watched The Lives of Others last night, which was great but really quite terrifying, especially with our own government being terrible about respecting our privacy. The world in the movie is very foreign, but watching it, you have the definite impression that it had to start somewhere. Meanwhile, Israel seems to be instituting a full-on apartheid, which is always cool.
