There once was a puppy who thought himself fierce.
There once was a chick who thought himself swift.
There once was a fancy who thought himself mad.
And there once was a doubt who thought himself much less then all that.
There once was a wolf who played at being a sheep.
There once was a hawk who played at being pitiful.
There once was a fire who played at quenching thirst.
And there once was boy who thought it better to take heed.
There once was a rhythm with no step.
A sight without light.
An assurance without reason.
A line without end.
I once was a man on fire. Who saw beyond the veil which shrouds the world or fancy. I once had static in my gaze and knew of immortality.
There was a time when I was weak.
There was a time when I was strong.
There was a moment of overbearing of ruthless conquest.
And there was a moment of hesitant submission.
There was an era of light and of shadow.
There has been a spotlight glaring inspection.
And there has been a warmth in darkness.
