I wonder how many people look at words the way I do.
I've been told I've a style that some find hard to put their finger on, to define.
When I'm bringing my world to life every aspect is important.
Not just the words meaning but the presentation of the words as well. I despise repetitive word usage, I smite with great satisfaction when editing.
But how much of a nerd am I?
I count the curves of words so that the sentence is pleasurable to the eye as well.
The Nefasus.
Nathaniel.
Rose.
Kailia.
Dracula.
Everist.
Rook
The Artifact
Tao
Karma
Hunter
Pawn
Future
I can go on and on.
They're all beautifully sculptured words.
Admittedly most are titles but the shape draws the reader into the paragraph.
"Similarly" is a word I often lament over.
If it were spelt "similirli" it would would catch the audiences careful attention slowing the eye down and leading to the enjoyment of description.
(Hmm... there's a name in there somewhere.)
Then there is watermarking.
Robert Red Beard.
Can be called Rob for the rest of the story and never be confused with Roderick Hose called Roddy.
The reader will associate Rob with red. As long as the writer never places the titleholder of "Rob and Roddy" with in the same sentence.
I love this type of dance.
But wonder if I'm the only one fussing over such notions.
