What to say, what to say?

I suppose I have a good amount to talk about. A decent amount of stuff has happened since the last post a couple weeks ago.

First off, I replaced my video card. I upgraded it for only $100! I was happy. Unfortunately, I spend half of my bank account on it =(. I need a job. The comp seems to be running better now, though, thankfully. First, it actually runs... secondly, it doesn't seem to be giving problems. It's been giving me a some probs with World of Warcraft, though. I'm trying reinstalling it before I make any decisions on what's wrong... It's working fine other than with WoW. I'm hoping it's just because I didn't reinstall WoW when I reformatted - only copy-and-pasted since it works when you do that. Apparently, it doesn't need to be in the registry.

Anyway, the 10th (the Saturday that I last posted), I went and had dessert and a drink with Kristen and that was enjoyable. I was happy to help her get out of the house and away from homework for a little while. After that, I went to Erica's for a movie night that also included Will, Corrienne and Wes, and David. That was fun, as well. Watched Momento - an interesting movie.

On the 11th, Shawn and Amber came over with shrimp and Ryan also came over. The three of us guys drank half the beer I had bought the evening before >.< (I only got a six pack, though, so we each had only one, kids).

Monday and Tuesday I worked my butt off cleaning the house, yard, and vehicles. Wednesday I also did some cleaning, but mostly played a some WoW, watched The Bourne Identity, and waited for my new video card to show up (bought myself a very nice GeForce 6800XT, about the best you can do when sticking with an AGP card) and installed it when it finally was delivered at 7pm.

Thursday I went and filled up the tank in the truck, got a couple things for the drive to Columbus, packed for the 2 days in Columbus, and played more WoW.

By the way, the latest I got up that span of six days was at 11am on Sunday. I got up at 9-ish on Saturday and at 10 from Monday to Thursday.

Friday, I got up at 6:30 and got ready and drove down to Columbus and napped while Lydia was in her class. When she got out, we went to my scheduled tour of Franklin University. I was very impressed not only with the facilities, but also with the people. The "tour guide" is an accounting major, but I could really relate to him. Everyone seemed nice and laid back. It also showed that they are serious about their tech classes because they've definitely spent money on the department. I hope I can get everything figured out so that I can go there.

After that, we did a couple quick things in town before we heading to Cincinnati for the Switchfoot concert. It was awesome. Switchfoot rocked, as always, and I was really impressed with how good Copeland is live. They sound just as good as they do on their album. The only downside to the concert was that once it started getting dark, waiting outside to get in got very cold and also, there were several teenie-boppers that I had to contend with behind me that tried to touch Jon everytime he got near the edge of the stage right by us.

Saturday we finished her packing and did a couple things on the way up to Detroit to pick up my family from the airport. Among those things was dropping off her laptop at the Apple store to get it fixed and stopped at a nice yarn store that we like along the way between here and Columbus. We got home and my last two bottles of Killians that I was saving for Lydia and I for St. Patty's day were gone - Ryan decided to drink them while he was taking care of the dog and he swears that he'll pay me back for them. I've yet to see my two beers in repayment =P.

Sunday, Shawn and Amber came over and Ryan did, too. Lydia finally got to experience the Wii. Kristen also stopped over because mom made corned beef and cabbage and she had an extra six bottles of Guinness since she only needed one for it and had to buy a six pack. That day was fun.

I ended up not going to class Monday morning because I wasn't feeling well (hadn't been feeling well Sunday evening, either). The day got worse, though. I did something to my back shortly after I got my shower and ended up pretty much not being able to move all day. Finally gave up on being able to do anything and called the doctor, who called in a couple prescriptions and made an appointment for Tuesday morning. They ended up being Naprosyn and Tylenol 3. So for the past week, I've been able to boast being on a controlled substance. You know your meds are good when you need to give your social security number to receive them (Tylenol 3 has codeine in it, for those that don't know). Saw him Tuesday and he said it was acute back spasms and prescribed a muscle relaxer for me (Robaxin). He told me to take it easy for a couple days and to do stretches that he gave me some drawings of (which I've only done once). I ended up not goign to class that day, though I was back well before evening class and probably could have made my 12:30 class as well. I think I went with mom and Lydia to Meijer to get the 3rd prescription and while there, Lydia decided she wanted to learn to play Magic: The Gathering, so I bought her a deck and taught her when we got home. I got her hooked on it.

Went to English on Wednesday and found out I hadn't really missed anything Monday, so I was relieved. I was really spaced out, though, because of the meds. It was interesting. We watched a video and talked about it afterward and stuff... I don't really know how much I was able to retain. I was still in a lot of pain still, after all. Lydia decided those couple days of rest and taking it easy that the doctor told me to take included Monday, which was before I saw the doctor, so she dragged me around the mall, too. It was ok, I guess... Coulda been worse.

Thursday I went to my math class in the afternoon and did decently considering my state and took a quiz over the stuff I had missed on Tuesday. Thank God it was a group quiz and the stuff was fairly easy after looking it over a bit before the quiz. I showed up for my C++ class in the evening but we didn't have it.

Friday Lydia and I went to Shawn and Amber's to play Magic. It was pretty fun. Shawn and Lydia were the only two of the three of us that won. I don't think I was ever the first one out, though. My deck is kind of complicated to play. He filled in the holes that I couldn't remember and corrected a few of my mistakes in teaching her and she liked it even more afterward. We went to a gaming store/sanctuary after leaving their place and got more decks. We both liked the deck I got her, so she got her own copy of it as well as another and some booster packs. I bought my 3rd deck and we both also got dice for life counters.

Saturday we went to the DIA and looked at the Ansel Adams exhibit. It was pretty cool. Afterward, we went to Steak 'n Shake and got dinner and shakes. When we got back to town, Lydia and I went to the Dollar Tree and Big Lots to look for flat marbles to use as counters for stuff for Magic and hopefully for some sort of closeable pouch or something to keep them in. We found the marbles at both places (Dollar Tree being the better deal), but no luck on the pouches. We tried our decks that were the same and I won just by the luck of the draw, literally. I got the better shuffle, apparently. Then we played our new decks and mine owned hers. Then we tried her new deck and my oldest one and she won easily. Finally, I got her to try the deck the we both had against my new deck and we ended up calling the game after 3 hours. We just weren't getting anywhere. I was able to get too many expendable creatures out for her to hurt me and my getting creatures out did nothing but increase her health because she had creatures that gave her life for every creature brought into play. She never wants to play against that deck again XD.

Sunday mom and I drove her home and by the end of the day, my back rued the decision to go. Mom didn't let me drive at all because of my back. We stopped at the Apple store and got her fixed laptop and then dropped her stuff off at her dorm before goign to the North Market to get Japanese candy. Then we went out to Chipotle for dinner and to Walmart to get her groceries and whatnot. She got a 3rd deck there, tying me for the amount of decks and also giving her a deck to use all the cards in the booster packs with.

This morning, my back reaffirmed that I shouldn't have gone. Previously, it had only started hurting each day only after I had been up for a little while and had been moving around. Today, though, it hurt from the get-go. Oh well, it's doing better now, at least.

Anyway, I think that's all that's happened in the past two weeks. Sorry for the length. Later, all!
