"Eventually he is going to get them all killed... You must know that by now. Even if you can sublimate the creatures natural urge. It will still eventually conquer his mind."
"I know."
"Your still going to do it though, aren't you?"
"If you have a better idea. Please tell me. Because at the moment. I am more than happy to take suggestions."
"Let him be at peace. Let him die like a man. He did save Shawna. Let him go with that thought. Don't let him get turned into a monster. We will find another way," she said putting her hands on his shoulders, and staring directly into his eyes. "Let him go."
"So, I am to leave all of them defensless? Without so much as a warning of what is after them. What will happen to them if the tribes cannot get together to stop it." She saw the weary look on his face, and looked over at Shawna's savior. The broken mass of flesh masquerading in human form. He saw his opening and let it fly. "He took them all on himself Mar. Just a human. He helped because he was there. No other reason. And I cannot destroy a good man, if I can help."
Shawna opened the door and was carried into the room by Jason. He gently set her down on the table next to the corpse. She looked over his wounds and placed her hand on his chest. She let her legs slide off the table and winced for a moment before standing up using the table as support. Jason did not move as she made her way past Mariah and grabbed her fathers shoulder. He supported her for a moment as Shawna held up her hand showing the corpses blood to him and then placing it over her heart. David just looked at his daugther and could not help but smile. "You know what this means," he said. She was already shaking her head in the affirmative. "Then we havent much time."
