I wonder how much of it is intentionally reciprocated. Exchanging Maura/Abby jabs for Linda/Sam. It's funny that all this is stemming from a bunch of 30+ year olds. It's like Mean Girls all growed up.

Instead of the usual three posts of SQUEE and then 17 pages of the SQUEE getting stomped on; ran over by a semi-truck; and then dumped in the ocean never to be seen again like in some places.
I haaaaate that. HATE IT. It's what bugs me most about fandom- a lot of the time it's good, having people to be happy and giddy and obsess-y with, but a lot of the time it also just rains on your damn parade. But dude, not with Luke and Lorelai, that's what's rocking so much about this. I think the only people who aren't falling out of their chairs with excitement are people who don't watch the show.
I mean, the L/L stuff could've been preceeded by 50 minutes of Taylor in a bathrobe doing the riverdance and I'd still be SQUEE, so having a solid episode is just icing.BWAH! Yeah, i still would have been squeeing over the episode, and i HATE Taylor. But not even he could dash my excitement, nope. And yeah, it was definitely a solid episode. And so much shippiness! Not just the kiss, but every! single! L/L! scene! That makes it even more
