In the Atlantis episode Doppelganger, Samantha Carter refers to technology they (SG-1) encountered "ten years ago on a planet where the survivors of a holocaust were living entirely in a virtual world created in their minds ( Read more... )

Hope that helps.

That game up on one of my searches, but not having seen much of SG-1 it was hard to tell. Reading the synopsis, it just might be what I'm looking for and if not, it's gotta be close. ;) Oh, the joys of sci-fi!

Thanks, hon! Hope all is well with you.

Things are good for me. I hope they are for you as well.

I have seen all of SG-1 and re netflixed not to long ago. I wish they would bring the streaming back.

That was the only one I could think of that fit. Sci-fi is a thing of joy. At least you are working on stuff *yay*

Yeah, I just saw that it isn't streaming on Netflix anymore. Oh well, guess I know what will be next in my queue. I should have started watching while it was still streaming, but I just never had time.

Things are good here, too. It feels good to be writing stuff again. For the longest time, I didn't write a word.

yep - its the gamekeeper, the apocalypse reference is because the keeper wants the people in the VR to think their world is still uninhabitable following an environmental disaster.

in doppleganger doesn't she also say something about "we modified some of the tech for traing purposes" (or similar) that refers to the episode avatar where they use one of the VR pods from gamekeper and teal'c gets suck in a never-ending VR game that won't let him win.

is not a nerd, I just have a broken ankle and have literally spent the last three weeks in front of the TV watching DVD's :-D

Yes, she did say they modified the tech! Thanks for being not a nerd and giving me the name of that ep, too. My mind is spinning about the "cause" of my character's amnesia/altered state, but if I can pin down what's being done for it, that might lead me to focus on one or another.

OMG, sorry to hear about your ankle. I hope you're feeling better now and at least you had entertainment. I remember when my Mom broke hers a few years back, she got so tired of TV, she actually started reading books, which I'd never really seen her do.

Thanks again!

I must admit I am getting a little bored of TV, having watched all of SG1 and Atlantis, along with Eureka, the 4400, Warehouse 13, four seasons of smallville and six seasons of supernatural. I started knitting today, I've not done that in years! as the number of dropped stiches indicates :-D

good luck with your story

Thank you!! SG-1 is also unlimited streaming with Prime - now I don't have to wait for Netflix delivery.
