First of all, to say that someone choosing one of my stories to podfic makes me ridiculously happy would be the understatement of the year.
Secondly, and more important, I should have made this post earlier, but certain RL events, not to mention still being in post-coital haze with my Small Fandom Big Bang story have kept me too busy and/or too tired.
The wonderful and multi-talented
sgamadison has podficced
The Last Word, and has done a hauntingly beautiful job of it. She probably thinks I am ungrateful since this post is so late, but I assure her and you, that is far from the case. She talked of the experience
here at her journal and I concur that there was something special there in that place and time - a spark, a depth of emotion or efficacy that particularly suits the subject matter. Those of you who've been around here a while know what this story and the sequel,
Past Perfect mean to me. I couldn't be more pleased that she chose The Last Word because it spoke to her in a certain way; she has certainly given some of that back in her reading.
You can find the podfic
HERE.
Also, a reminder that there's a soundtrack too.
vida_boheme crafted the perfect companion piece to the story and it is all kinds of amazing. It's powerful and helps to convey the full force of the story much like
sgamadison's voice does in the podfic. Emotional? Yes, but, to me, that's the beauty of it and how the three elements - written word, spoken word, visually enhancing music - work together is kind of magical.
You can find the soundtrack
HERE.
I can only hope you enjoy the experience of these two elements of the story as much as I do and, if so, please do tell
sgamadison and
vida_boheme how much!!
