As reported by BBC News,
President Barack Obama has promised to end the ban on gays serving in the military. In a speech to the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, he said he would repeal DADT, but no timeline was given. Also during his speech, President Obama called on Congress to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and for legislation that would extend benefits to domestic partners.
All I can say is, action speaks louder than words Mr. President. Here's hoping that action will follow swiftly.
