Brink

My beautiful angel
Took a step off of the edge of the world
Cold heavens brush her scarlet hair across her forehead
Her blood is cold
It floods my hallway
Bearing the name of all good things once lost
All good things are lost
Her body is limp
Ice cold to the touch
Her russet eyes would be brilliant
Eyes closed to the stiff air around us
We can’t let it sensor the sob
The tears falling from every eye
Clinched fists
Sweaty palms
With my head in my hands
I can’t shake the loss of my light
Eternal slumber
For the seraph of my vestibule

Doze away the wretchedness
The sickness within

Nothing left of him
Disconsolate and alone
Forgotten
Despondently crying for

A sigh or some other request
Nothing can break the already disheartened
Nothing can shake
The hollow

Falling away from everything
