OH GOD THAT WAS SO GO FOR ME. SO SO GOOD.
That moment when John said "If Finch was involved with the virus, I'm sure he had his reasons" was probably the most perfect-for-me moment of TV that's ever happened to me. I hate hate hate when shows spend seasons building up the trust between two characters only to tear it down in a single stupid moment of "Why didn't you just talk to each other!", and I was so worried Finch's involvement with the Ordos laptop would be that moment for POI. But instead, they didn't even need to talk to each other, John knows he can trust Harold, he trusts him entirely and completely, and OMG you guys it was so good for me.
Oh God, and the John-and-Harold scenes at the end. The way John was looking at Harold, with so much love in his eyes - I mean, even if you don't ship it, seriously, there was so much trust and affection there.
SHOW, YOU'RE SO GOOD TO ME.
That said, I have urgent questions about this. Can someone clear up for me what actually happened? If I understood it correctly, Finch sold a laptop to the Chinese - the laptop John and Kara were supposed to recover when the CIA tried to kill them - and it contained the virus that set the machine free? Am I getting this right? I need to know for a fic!
