I just finished a story, and am now in the rare situation where I actually feel like writing, but have no new WIP to dive into. That almost never happens to me. I usually have way more ideas than time to write them. But right now, while I do have a few ideas for PoI stories, none of them are really fleshed out in my head to the point where I could ( Read more... )

Well, the kind of prompt you'd like for Grimm still has to come to me. I am all for the shippy stuff. :) Or you can write anything you like about Renard and how he got to where he is. Invent some backstory!

In the meantime, I now have two amnesia fics for a fandom I don't know/care about. Yay!? Doesn't matter, they'll go onto my list.

I still kind of want to write a huge sprawling epic Grimm fic about the Royals, and how Renard got where he is, and all our main characters teaming up to protect Portland from the Royals, and working together with the revolutionaries, and Juliette and Rosalee opening a Wesen clinic together. I mean, I won't, because it would be 75.000 words long and I've never done anything like that in my life and no one would even read it, but it's a really awesome story inside my head. ;)

I know, Grimm is such a tiny fandom, it almost doesn't deserve epic fic. Although not really. :) I am so obsessed with it, I wouldn't mind writing for a single reader. But then, I never get comments for anything I do, so I do all my fannish things exclusively for myself, which makes the size of the fandom less important.

Oh, by the way, I'll be curious how you like those fics. I don't have a handle on the kind of story you like at all. Sometimes we like the same sort of thing, and then sometimes we'll have radically different tastes, and it confused me. ;)

Also, wait, does that mean you're not familiar with Due South? Because that one is SUCH a fandom classic, and it's great, and I can't imagine you not liking Fraser.

It'll take me a while to get around to reading them, but I'll let you know. But if you want to know what kind of fic I like, you have to read my recs. I don't think we have all that similar tastes, actually. We often concentrate on very different aspects of shows that we like. If we even like the same shows. ;)

In a nutshell, I like slow build stories, dark stories (but happy-ish ending would be nice) and everything that has to do with rational people suppressing their emotions and ultimately losing control. But for specific fic, that's not particularly helpful, I know.

I liked the TW fic I recced you lately. That was a good example of repressed emotions and love sneaking up on Stiles. It had a little to little sex in it for my taste, but it was a good read. It had more plot than I usually need. :)

you're not familiar with Due South? That is one I will definitely NOT try again. I saw it once ages ago on tv and found it tacky. But then, dubbing makes everything tacky. I tried again when you told me about it, and didn't like the old ( ... )

The problem is that most of your recs are wayyyy too dark for me. And we do have very different tastes, it's lucky we still have shows we can enjoy together. ;)

Aww, it's a shame you didn't like DS. I've never seen the episodes with the original Ray, actually, I started with the Kowalski eps (that would be the Ray played by the Cylon). I've always loved Fraser, but I don't know how he comes across in the first two seasons. He's actually a really smart guy, though.
