(no subject)
Back from vacation! Or, well, I've been back from vacation for a week now, but I seem to be doing a really stupid thing where I'll get overwhelmed by the size of my inbox, ignore all my messages until way past the time where politeness would have required a response, and then get so anxious about how people are probably annoyed with me now that I don't feel like talking to anyone at all anymore. It's the perfect vicious cycle of dumb social anxiety! /o\
So, uh, I'll try to be better about this now. I miss talking to people on the internet. :(
Anyway, I just came back from spending nine days in Egypt with my mom, which was even better than I thought it would be. Egypt is so mind-blowing and amazing in person. The thing about Egypt is, they have so many antiquities there, they don't bother putting even a fraction of them behind glass, so you can go right up to things, and see them up close, and even touch them. And as a tourist, that's amazing, and an entirely different experience than looking at stuff in a museum. Except for how it also kind of drove me crazy to see people putting their hands all over everything all the time. That's a 4000 year old statue! Don't get sweat and salt and dampness on it, god damn it!
In Real Life news, I have a job interview coming up in a week, and I'm terrified. I want this job so badly. Every other small hospital in the region has already told me they don't have jobs available, so if this doesn't work out, I'll either have to move, or work in one of the awful soulless giant big city hospitals, both of which I really wanted to avoid.
