Visiting the Village

Jul 08, 2009 01:04

So, we did indeed go out tonight to sight-see. Though, the main place we saw was Greenwich Village, which is basically this bar/pub/club/bohemian lifestyle district!!! It was fun!

We walked around and just kinda got to know the area. Walked into the Chess Shop which had these really unique themed chest sets on display...

Then we ended up going to a couple bars (our fakes worked!!!) and listening to the LIVE-MUSIC!!!! The first one was called 'Back Fence' and they give u peanuts still in the shell and you sit there drinking and cracking shells and THROWING THE SHELLS ON THE FLOUR!!! We made an impressive pile beside our table. I can't imagine how bad the floor gets on a weekend! ;D

The second bar we went to had more jazzy kind of music and it was SOOOO GOOD! I swear at one point I teared up because the lead singer was so pasionate it was insane!

<--- thats him in the orange! He has an awesome voice! (sorry for the crap pic)

After this bar, we headed home cause it was getting late and the guy driving us and showing us around (Anna's uncle) has work in the morning...

But on the way back we stopped by the pier and got some more epic pictures of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan (mostly the Financial Distric) from across the water...

<--- Brooklyn Bridge!

:) Tomorrow we are going to Central park and the MET. Its gonna be fun!
