Hey, it's your journal...you can write whatever you want. Although it was considerate of you to include a warning and a cut...I probably should have done the same in my own post about the movie.
I completely agree with your assessment of the movie. This show gave "family" oriented movies a bad name, because here, "family" is synonomous with trite and unrealistic, to the point of insult. Especially the ending.
I thought it was badly written, badly filmed, and badly edited, and totally beneath Joe's talents.
And I'm sorry, there's no way Brooke can pass for older than late twenties--if that.
Did her friend in fact give birth to Jordan? I thought Jordan was adopted too--but then again I was zoned out when not focusing on Joe, hahaha.
I hope for Joe's sake it does not get picked up as a series. He was already expressing unrest with regard to the corporate control of the production and himself as an actor, months ago. It's my opinion he signed on to this with the expectation it would NOT get picked up, and he'd get a bit of exposure outside of SciFi---a reintroduction to the mainstream---and a decent paycheck.
No wonder you needed a dose of SGA afterward.I did, too!
I don't have one bit of criticism for Joe in this movie, however. He did the best the could with the material and the acting talent (or lack thereof), surrounding him. He's always amazing to watch, I love his expressions and the way he can form his characters with simply a shift in his energy and intent. However, half the time--because of the way the movie was shot--his skill was just not showcased. We had way too many profile shots, or worse.
He deserves something better, as well as something he really enjoys doing---action/comedy.
This was always more Brooke's vehicle than his anyway. I guess to promote her music. I agree, I want something better for Joe. Preferably an action series!

I went on a rant, I know. This show really irked me. I was so excited to see Joe again, but didn't expect the movie to be this bad.
I still watch his scenes though....he's so darn adorable!
