Chapter 7
“I think I’ve fallen in love with you.”
“Do you know the meaning of red rose?” Jin asked playfully. Kazuya shook his head.
“It means ‘I love you’. I realized my feelings for you, that’s why I gave you a red rose this time.”
Kazuya widened his eyes when those words finally came to sense in his mind. He felt his cheeks blushing slowly. He tried to calm down his racing heart beat but it was futile. It was still beating like crazy. Jin moved back slowly and looked into his eyes. In his eyes, Kazuya could feel the sincerity and loving feeling.
‘He really loves me!’
“Umm, Akanishi-kun, I-,” Kazuya didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence because Jin already cut his words.
“What happened with calling me Jin earlier?” Jin frowned
“Eh?” Kazuya tilted his head in confusion.
“You called me Jin earlier,” Jin said in an accused tone.
“Huh? Did I?”
“You didn’t realize it?” Jin’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Umm, maybe I did call you Jin,” Kazuya said, still feeling uncertain.
“Now I demand you to call me Jin from now on!” Jin exclaimed childishly.
“Eh? B-but…,” Kazuya stuttered at the sudden demand.
“You called me Jin, didn’t you? Now try to call my name then!” Jin said excitedly.
“I… umm... J-jin…,” Kazuya called his name in a low tone.
“Good boy! You have to remember calling me that from now on!” Jin smiled widely, ruffling Kazuya’s hair.
“O-Okay,” Kazuya’s heart fluttered at the affection Jin was giving to him.
“Now, continue what you wanna say,” Jin smiled softly.
“Listen, Aka-,” Kazuya was stopped when he saw the pierce look on Jin’s face and corrected his words,” J-jin…,” Jin nodded in satisfaction and gave him a sign to continue.
“Listen, I’m sorry… but I don’t want to be in-,” Kazuya’s words were cut once again by Jin.
“Wait! I knew that you don’t want to be in any relationship,” Jin said in a calm tone.
“You already know my answer then,” Kazuya said slowly.
“But I won’t acknowledge that,” Jin said determinedly.
“What?” Kazuya didn’t believe what he just heard.
“I will change that rule you have for yourself, and I’ll make you fall for me,” Jin exclaimed confidently.
“Make me… fall… for you? What are you gonna do?” Kazuya widened his eyes for the nth times that day, but at the same time, his heart skipped a beat.
“Well, I don’t know for know, but I’ll manage it somehow,” Jin said carelessly, grinning like mad.
Kazuya was speechless. He didn’t know what to do or say. It was the first time there’s someone as bold but stupid as Jin. He considered calling him ‘Bakanishi’ just like Ueda did. But he couldn’t deny the fact Jin’s confession made him happy. He knew that he slowly started to like him, but he was afraid. He was afraid of being in any relationship anymore.
‘At least not now.’
A growling sound was heard, snapping back Kazuya from his own thoughts. Kazuya looked at Jin who was smiling sheepishly at him. A low growl was heard again, and it was clear that it was coming from Jin’s stomach. Kazuya couldn’t help but chuckled at the older boy.
“I guess I have to go now before I’d embarrass myself any further,” Jin said embarrassedly.
“No… you don’t have to. I’ll cook something for you. Besides I haven’t had my breakfast yet. Just wait here and I’ll be done in a few minutes,” Kazuya got up and headed to the kitchen to cook something for them.
Jin sat there for a few minutes and got bored. He decided to have a peek at Kazuya and gasped when he saw the nice sight in front of him. Kazuya’s back was facing him with a blue apron on, and his hair was clipped up, showing the milky skin on his nape. He looked so pretty. Jin resisted the urge to hug him from behind and nuzzle on his hair. All he could do was staring at the beautiful view in front of him.
It seemed that Kazuya felt Jin’s stare because he turned around, catching Jin staring at him lovingly. Kazuya blushed and fidgeted on his feet.
“Wh-what are you doing there?” Kazuya felt like smacking himself for stuttering.
“I got bored and I came to check on you,” Jin grinned almost wickedly.
“But I can’t do the work when you’re staring at me like that,” Kazuya pouted.
“Don’t mind me. I won’t bother you. Just continue your work,” Jin said reassuringly.
Kazuya wasn’t convinced but he continued cooking nevertheless. He still could feel Jin’s gaze on his back but he was trying with all his might to ignore it. Nonetheless, he still made some mistakes and stumbled nervously. Jin noticed that and chuckled which earned a pout from the younger boy.
“That’s why I told you to quit staring at me!” Kazuya whined.
“But it’s fun to look at you cooking for me. It’s like you’re my wife,” Jin said in a sing-song tone.
Kazuya blushed harder and didn’t retort back. He turned to continue his work and ignored Jin. Jin giggled seeing Kazuya’s response.
‘He was so cute.’

In the end, Jin spent the whole day at Kazuya’s apartment. They were fooling around and having fun with themselves. They were playing with Ran-chan, watching DVD and playing video games. Jin would occasionally tease him, making Kazuya blush and embarrassed. Kazuya pouted and pretended to be mad at him but in the end, he laughed whenever Jin did silly things.
They didn’t realize that the time was flying so fast. It was already dark outside and Jin excused himself to go home. Kazuya was disappointed when Jin said that. He didn’t want to end their fun just yet. Jin could see that Kazuya was a bit reluctant to let him go and he was glad to know that Kazuya showed a little affection for him.
“Hey, Kazu, I’ve been having this though on my mind for a while,” Jin said suddenly.
“What is it?” Kazuya frowned curiously.
“Have you been sleeping well? Because I could see the dark circles under your eyes,” Jin asked softly.
Kazuya was startled. He thought the older boy didn’t notice it, but apparently he was proved wrong. He looked down and answered the question slowly.
“Not really actually.”
“And why is that?” Jin asked although he already had an assumption of what he had been had.
“I’m…. having this nightmare every night,” Kazuya still looked down, not meeting Jin’s eyes.
Jin didn’t say anything. He slowly pulled the younger boy into a loose embrace and held him there. Kazuya was taken aback with Jin’s action and flinched at first but he didn’t struggle. He soon found that the position was comfortable so he unconsciously leaned closer. Jin stroked Kazuya’s hair slowly, lulling him to sleep.
“I’ll be here when you have that nightmare. How that sounds?” Jin whispered softly into Kazuya’s ear.
Kazuya was blushing and considering on refusing the offer, but he really got comfortable with his position now and he didn’t want to let the feeling go. He still contemplated with his choice and Jin could see that he was troubled. Before Kazuya could answer the question, Jin already beat him with his words again.
“Or if you’re troubled with me staying the night, I can go now. I don’t want to force you,” Jin said while keeping on stroking his hair.
“NO!” Kazuya looked up at Jin almost immediately, blushing when he realized his outburst. “I mean, I don’t mind you staying the night here.”
Jin was grinning and slowly he got up from the couch, lifting Kazuya up with him. Kazuya gave him a confused look but Jin was only smiling. He lifted Kazuya up and carried him to his bedroom. Kazuya yelped in surprise and protested to the older boy.
“Jin! I can walk myself!” Kazuya whined.
“I know that, but I prefer to carry you,” Jin said wickedly.
After they reached the bedroom, Jin put Kazuya gently on the middle of the bed. He looked down at the younger boy and smiled at him gently. Kazuya didn’t know how many times he had blushed that day already, but it seemed that he couldn’t control his face from getting redder whenever Jin smiled at him. Jin was mesmerized at how beautiful Kazuya was under the dimly lit, blushing and fidgeting nervously on his own bed. Jin crawled on his bed and lay beside him, pulling him into a loose embrace once again.
“Go sleep. I’ll be here,” Jin whispered softly. Kazuya looked into his eyes before smiling cutely and closed his eyes, snuggling closer to Jin’s neck.
Jin started caressing his back and stroking his hair soothingly. Soon, Kazuya was drifted into sleep. Jin felt the steady breath on his neck and let out a sigh. He had to hold his body from jumping on the sleeping boy. He brought his hand to brush at Kazuya’s cheek lightly, staring at his peaceful face. Finally, he couldn’t resist anymore. He leaned in closer on Kazuya’s forehead, kissing him there gently before turning back to stroke his hair. Jin blushed and he had to be satisfied with just kissing him on the forehead.
‘Thank God, he’s sleeping so he can’t see my face now.’

The sun rays crept into the room through the curtain. He could hear a low humming bird from a far. Kazuya shifted on his bed and opened his eyes slowly. A handsome face was presented in front of him, still sleeping. Kazuya’s heart was beating so fast when he realized who it was. He recalled the memory of last night and felt like blushing again. But the thing that shocked him the most was…. that he didn’t have a nightmare.
“Akanishi Jin, you’re surely something.’
