Chapter 3
Ueda and Yamapi’s jaws dropped when they entered their classroom this morning. The first thing they saw was Jin and Kazuya chatting together. Ueda was even more shocked when he heard Kazuya let out a giggle when Jin said something to him. He immediately approached the boy and dragged him to the corner of the class while at the same time, Yamapi did exactly the same action to Jin.
“What the hell are you doing?” Ueda questioned the confused boy.
“Err, talking to Akanishi-kun?” Kazuya squirmed on his feet.
“But I thought you hate him?” Ueda raised his eyebrows.
“Well, something happened and I found that he’s not that bad, apparently,” Kazuya blushed and looked down.
“Are you going out with him now?
“No, of course not. And I don’t think I would be in any relationship. In fact, I don’t wanna have one,” Kazuya smiled reassuringly.

Yamapi dragged Jin right after Ueda had dragged Kazuya. He looked into Jin’s eyes and started questioning.
“I thought you said he’s boring. What’s with that?” Yamapi pointed at Kazuya’s direction.
“He’s not boring apparently. He’s quite interesting and he got a really cute smile. He’s also a pretty fast runner!” Jin said although the last part was unnecessary.
“So, you say you’re going out with him now?”
“Well, you can say that,” Jin grinned at his best friend, “and I want to tease him again now.”
Jin left his confused friend and approached his target who was still talking with his friend.
“Are you going out with him now?” he heard Kazuya’s friend asked him. He stopped in his tracks and waited for Kazuya’s answer.
“No, of course not. And I don’t think I would be in any relationship. In fact, I don’t wanna have one,” Jin shoulder slumped the moment he heard Kazuya’s answer. He felt something patting his shoulder and found his best friend standing behind him and sending him a concerned look.
“He said he doesn’t want to be in a relationship,” Jin sighed, walking out of the classroom.
“He… must have his reasons,” Yamapi said soothingly, circling his arm around Jin’s shoulder.

Jin, Yamapi and a few of their classmates went to hang out together after their classes had ended. They entered the nearest McDonald’s and had their lunch there. They just chatted randomly until one of them said something about Kazuya.
“Hey listen, I heard some weird rumors about Kamenashi,” a gangster-look-alike guy started the topic.
“Kamenashi? Kamenashi Kazuya? From our English class?” Jin straightened his back right after he heard Kazuya’s name was mentioned.
“Yes. I have some friends who attended the same high school with him. And they said that Kamenashi had been bullied during high school,” he continued.
“Bullied? Koki, are you sure?” Yamapi frowned.
“That’s what my friend said,” Koki shrugged his shoulder.
“But he looks like a good boy. Why would they bully him?” a guy with big nose joined the conversation.
“Maru, you don’t need a special reason to bully someone, do you? It’s like picking on someone without any particular reason,” Jin said.
“But it’s not just that. I heard that he was molested by his senpai on his second year!” Koki continued again, ignoring Maru and Jin.
“Molested???!” Jin almost yelled and abruptly stood up from his seat.
“Jin! Sshhh! People are watching! Sit down!” Yamapi tugged Jin’s sleeve in order to make the older boy sit down. Jin sat down but his eyes were still fixed on Koki.
“Koki, is that true??” Jin demanded.
“That’s what I heard,” Koki replied.
“Maybe that’s why he doesn’t want to be in a relationship,” Yamapi whispered lowly to Jin.
Jin didn’t say anything. His mind was occupied with lots of thoughts.
‘Kazuya, is that true?’

Kazuya walked through the path of the riverside. He was smiling when he remembered Jin the other day. He looked at the sparkling water and felt warmth creeping into his heart. He never knew that only watching this riverside could be so heartwarming. He was thinking about walking with Ran-chan on this riverside when someone called out his name.
“Kamenashi?”
Kazuya turned around to see who was calling him. He gasped when he recognized who it was. Memory after memory was flowing back to his mind. He didn’t expect he would run into someone he didn’t want to meet anymore. He just stood there, staring at his unwanted acquaintance.
“Kataoka senpai,” Kazuya’s voice was trembling although he didn’t realize it himself.
“Ah, I’m right. How are you? We haven’t met in such a long time already. And we couldn’t say we have a proper break up since then,” that guy kept talking and didn’t realize the fact that Kazuya didn’t welcome his presence. He tried to come closer to Kazuya but before he managed to touch him, Kazuya was already turning his back and running away from him.
“Kamenashi!” Kataoka called out to him but Kazuya paid no attention and kept on running. He didn’t want to meet him anymore.
Finally he reached his apartment. He rummaged through his bag to find his key and unlocked the door. His beloved dog was barking when Kazuya entered the apartment. He mumbled a low ‘I’m home’ to his dog before heading to the living room. Kazuya sat on his couch, rubbing his temple in frustration.
‘Why is senpai here? I thought he was studying overseas. Why do I have to run into him of all people? I want to forget about it already.’
Suddenly, he felt that something hopped onto his lap and licked his jaw line. He looked down and saw his beloved dog licking his face as if she was worried about her owner. Kazuya chuckled and patted the dog’s head. She felt comfortable and laid his jaw on Kazuya’s shoulder. Kazuya brushed its fur and enjoyed the warmth she gave him. But then he heard the front door‘s bell ringing. He put his dog down and walked out to see who was coming. He reached out to the door knob and opened it. He was surprised to find Jin at his door.
“Akanishi-kun? What are you doing here?” Kazuya tilted his head in confusion.
“Can I come in?” Jin ignored the younger boy’s question and asked him instead.
“Eh? Umm, sure… come in,” Kazuya moved aside to let Jin enter his apartment.
“So, what’s bringing you here at this hour?” Kazuya asked when they finally sat in the living room.
“I heard some rumors of you,” Jin said in low tone.
“Ru-rumors? Wh-what kind of rumor is that?” Kazuya suddenly felt so nervous and began to fidget in his seat.
“That you were bullied and molested during high school. It’s that true?” Jin asked him bluntly.
‘He knows! H-how come?’
