So, I'm sitting here in the Bernhard Center on Western Michigan's campus playing Jewel Quest (a fabulous yahoo game). I am having a rough day so far so I'm just relaxing with some computer game playing and wasting of time...it's going pretty well. Anywho, while I'm playing I realize something through the game. I thought that what I was trying to do was working in the game just to find out that it doesn't do shit! My epiphany, thanks to the game, is that no matter how in control you think you are, or how planned out you think you have things, or how perfectly right you think your decisions are, you have no idea! Do we just think we have free will when really, we have no control and things have been planned to have you make that decision? When we think we have a handle on life and a fair prediction as to what will happen next, we get slapped in the face with a "You don't know jack shit!" You just have to suck it up and move on before you get left behind or stepped on. You have to be strong enough and accepting of the fact that things will happen with or without you to pick your self up. I heard that we all fall down so we know how to pick our selves up again (thank you Batman!). It's true. What are the ups without the downs? What are the fantastic days without the days from hell? It all balances out but maybe you'll be one of the luck ones where the scales tip a little more in your favor. Life is a fantastic thing, full of lessons even ridden in simple computer games, all you have to do is be open to them.
