I'm winding down my last day in the newsroom. Next week I'll be in graphics on the 3rd floor, and then that's it. I'm done with the internship. It's strange. It's kinda like working here is a happy medium between the University Star and the Valley Morning Star... only with a great paycheck. That's one thing I'll really miss.
So I checked out my financial aid stuff today. Like I mentioned before (or did I?), I was awarded almost $12,000 in financial aid for Fall 07/Spring 08 ($5855 per semester). OK, so my tuition for Fall 07 came out to $2680, which is less than half the amount awarded for this semester. I've applied the financial aid to my balance due, so if my thinking is correct, I *should* be getting a check for $3175.
Oh god, I hope that's right. Because I don't have a job, and it turns out that I really didn't make ANY money working here this summer. It all went to gas and tuition. Ugh.
The new roommate moves in tomorrow. He was supposed to show up today, but said too many things came up and so he's planning on leaving tomorrow morning. He should be here around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I really hope this works out. He sounded sane enough on the phone. But you can never be too careful.
In other news, this boy has gone and got himself a crush... don't know why I went and did such a stupid thing. I don't even know the guy. But I guess that's the point of crushes, huh?
I realized this evening that I've been making excuses to not go out. I usually spend very little time at home during the weekend, but honestly, I really just want to stay in for once. Tomorrow is Jason's graduation party, in Westlake (ooh lala) ... I'm glad that at least Brix will be there; I always feel like I'm the hired help when I'm in Westlake. Vicky also said Rufus Wainright is going to be in the studio tomorrow, so I may drop by and ogle him... haha.
Other than that, I really don't feel like going out all that much. I guess I'm getting too old for all this partying college kids do. :P
