Connecticon 2010!
I just got back from Connecticon 2010! It was such a blast - as always. I thought I'd give you some of the highlights :D
-Friday-
- I drove to the con Dx It actually wasn't too bad except for this little last bit on I-91 when these cars were trying to merge and I couldn't pass them but I had to get to the exit which was, like, right there... It was stupid. xD;
- Watched some of The Weakest Link. I liked that a lot, I think I wanna watch it again. We wanted Tinker Bell to win (she was pretty kick ass at it), but she came in second place. :/
- Micaiah and I were Sousuke and Ponyo from the movie Ponyo. We got some recognition...one of my favorite moments was when a little girl wanted her picture with us x3
- Sousuke and I found my mom and dad (not my literal parents, Ponyo's parents - for clarification) and we took a family photo, lol. Dad warned Sousuke "Don't touch my daughter!" xDDD
- Connecticon the Musical...5? Ha, I don't remember the number. It was alright (pft, if it was just alright why am I putting it under the highlights?). I enjoyed last years more, and the year before that the most. I think part of the reason I didn't particularly like this one was because I didn't know much about the majority of the series used it in (IE: Doctor Who, Dragonball, Bleach...erm...what else was there? xD;;; ) Luckily I knew The Mystery Gang and Alex Trebeck and Sean Connery. I think that was it though >.>
-Had fun at the rave with Jenni and Steve. I decided I want to try...what's it called Micaiah? Poy? Swinging those light up balls, anyway xD;;
-Saturday-
- Also known as the "oh-shit-I'm-gonna-throw-up" day. I felt like I was gonna be sick for a good portion of the day because Micaiah and I were gonna be in the Masquerade later that night. Sooooooo nervous.
- We were World Cup Uniform!America and England from Axis Powers Hetalia. We ran into an Italy in soccer wear and every time we ran into her, we'd start calling each other losers and such and such...
Italy: Hey, losers!
America: At least we made it to the second round!
England: Yeah, you got beat by Slovakia!
Italy and America: Well you got beat by Germany! 4-1
England: I got beat by a semi-finalist! (to America) You got beat by Ghana!
America: Don't mess with Africa.
Italy: Well, I won the last World Cup.
America: 2014, baby! America's gonna win! ...Ha, hey, guess who hasn't won anything ever? (points to England)
Actually, I have to apologize now because I looked up the World Cup winners and England, you won in 1966. So I stand corrected. But that was when you weren't so old :P
- Got to see Michele Knotz (voice of Pokemon Trainer in SSBB along with other things) while Keegan fanboy-ed over her and got her autograph. She seemed like a cool person. Maybe I should've gotten her autograph too...
- Went to the Hetalia shoot, took pictures, waved to buses, got yelled at by staff members to stay on the sidewalk and then to keep a clear path in front of the doors. Oh, and then we did some nice AmericaxEngland fanservice. They liked it ;D
- After changing into Ciel and Sebastian from Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji) for the Masquerade, we checked in and sat through the set up for it. Watching the Masquerade was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the fact that Holmes and Watson were the hosts (and kissed at the end x3 ). They were very funny along with Deadpool, of course! When we went backstage, the crew were kinda goofy and stuff in order to try and shake the nerves the contestants had. I liked it, though I continued to feel like throwing up until we started walking on. When we began to get on stage, the exact second the audience saw Micaiah as Sebastian, they screamed so freaking much I'm pretty sure they creamed their pants right then and there xDDD; We did our dance, earning some fangirl screams at certain points, and although the dance came out a little messy (my guess is due to nerves), I think we did pretty awesome. We had the fans wrapped around our fingers xD;; They screamed for us a lot more than the other acts. Which is why....we won the Fan Favorite Award! 8DDD I'm kinda sad we didn't get a trophy...I like shiny things...but nonetheless it's so AWESOME! And it's all thanks to everyone who screamed for us <3
- Got a ton of pictures taken after the Masquerade and a lot of complements as well!
- Went to the rave. Micaiah was kinda dead xD; The DJ was kinda boring in music choice...I liked Friday better xD;;;;
-Sunday-
- I went to a panel by a girl who was an exchange student in Japan twice. I really liked it and it makes me a little less scared of being an exchange student when that time comes. She had some funny anecdotes about using the wrong words, but never being corrected because the Japanese don't correct you. She also answered a question that I had been wondering for a while. Japan is such a homogeneous country, I was afraid of some sort of discrimination. She said that it isn't serious "Go back where you came from!" discrimination, but more of a they're curious about you sort of thing. Like, she got questions asked about her coming from New York such as "Have you been kidnapped?" or "Do you have a gun with you?" Haha! It's all from movies or their interpretation of Americans. She even was asked if we had pumpkins in America xD; She was a lot of fun to listen to.
- I was Flapjack from The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Micaiah was Kai-Lan from Ni-Hao, Kai-lan! I'm sad she didn't get recognized a lot :C But I got lots of love <3 Got a lot of photos and hugs and high-fives. And I had fun having little in-character moments where I was either talking about Candied Island or Captain K'nuckles or Bubbie. There was this one time with a vendor in the Dealer's Room...
Vendor: Hey, Flapjack! (gestures to stock of Pocky and other wonderful treats) Welcome to Candied Island!
Flapjack: Candied Island! ...Oh, but where's Captain K'nuckles?
Random girls next to me: Oh, you can eat something. He'd start eating without you!
Flapjack:...but that's not very nice.
Vendor: Come on! You could take something back to Bubbie!
Flapjack:...um...uh...I think I'm gonna go find the Captain! (runs off)
- Watched some of Cosplay Chess. And Darth Vader killed Sebastian and Ciel T-T But Euphie and Suzaku (oh god, spelling?) from Code Geass won, so I guess that's good :D

- And the best for last... a Sebastian Nendoriod!!! 8D I've wanted one of these for months and I actually found one at a con for a reasonable price! :D He's so cool~ x3 I keep playing with him and his interchangeable faces and arms.
And I think that's it. I had so much fun~! I can't wait for AAC now.
Now to watch Durarara! 8D
