It Gives Me Butterflies

I often wonder what it'd be like to be a mangaka... it's a job that appeals to me so much. Drawing and writing comics...too bad it's a profession only in Japan. Not that'd I'd qualify to be one anyway...baha!

Little Miss Yana Toboso, mangaka of Kuroshitsuji, has stirred these feelings within me. xD But I love her so and look up to her artistic talent so much. I could probably go on and on about how her style is the perfect combination of a realistic and toon-ish look...but I won't put anyone to sleep with that. Anyway, she earns the title of 'sensei' in my eye. She just seems to love her characters so much...well I'm sure all manga artists do but Toboso-sensei draws pictures of them for her blog <3 lol (wow that made no sense whatsoever!)

I was skimming through that blog of hers, not understanding a word since it's in Japanese, and happened across pictures from when she got her Sebastian Nendoriod. I'm 90% sure (gotta leave room for error, for I'm no Holmes) she was extremely excited about it. She took a picture of it in its box and drew a bunch of hearts around it along with some words which I take are words of excitement.

I wonder what it feels like to see merchandise of your characters? On a broader take, I wonder what it feels like to have your comic adapted into an anime (no matter how eff-ed up it gets). Or even how it feels to have a fan base of people who share your love for your characters. Even just how it would feel to have your story accepted by a publishing company. It must be so surreal, I'm sure. I would love to know how it feels to experience such things. Even if it wasn't on a grand scale such as Toboso-sensei. I would work on improving my art so much, SO MUCH if there was even a slight chance of becoming a mangaka. It's just another point that proves I was born in the wrong country. :P

life, yana toboso, kuroshitsuji, mangaka
