they give up. i never will

people are such pussies sometimes.

i refer of course to this article about the beta testing nature of new release games. and i tell you what, Kristofer "Dracos" Brozio is one of the typical "im getting raped up the ass and i like it" push overs.

the thing that most annoys me is that in the end he won't ever do anything about this situation. and thats the real issue, its big corporations against the little people, except this group of little people, computer gamers, wont sit up and take notice. this is because the gaming companies have become a sort of the legal drug dealers of our time. they supply us with out new game fix and then we go off and we suck some donkeys to get more. as, like drugs, impurities have started creeping into their products because of sloppy work and profiteering exercises.

this is not how the game should be played, it should be played next to perfectly the first time. no patch required. a bug should be an accident that went unnoticed by the beta testers, and it should have little to no impact upon the game.

the last game i played, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is a masterpiece. i have not found a bug yet, and it is a very enjoyable experience to play aswell. when the game was released i wasnt so interested in it. but now that i think ive finished my siesta from gaming this was the perfect game to bring me back into the process. however i do worry that perhaps it has spoiled me with its beautiful gameplay and inspiring storyline (i mean it actually has made me want to see the end of the story...its almost like reading a good book, even if the story is linear).

so i guess this is me getting fed up with gaming companies before i try, i guess this is me losing faith in humanity once again. i guess this means alot of things, but the most prevalent one is the resolution i make today. that when i work for a gaming company, or own one of my own someday, that the quality of my product is uncompromisable. my product will not be released in a hurry, even if the release date must be pushed back time and time again. It doesnt matter if the game disappears like Duke Nukem 3d. nothing matters except the game. its all about the game, and being the best at your craft.

speaking of my career, i have been thinking about learning about graphics engines and stuff, and hopefully that'll allow me to create them. and then i can like both make games with them and also sell the engines to other companies so they can make pretty looking games and stuff. and so the future looks bright. i just need to get out there and do it.

what does your future look like?
