Not Quite Alive!verse: with holy_hand_print: it started out with a curious, fussy past version of Cas visiting him. Checking to see he was still alive and kicking, maybe. Dean didn't care, it was sort of a distraction, albeit a painful one.
When Cas shattered his last hope of finding Sam and expelling Lucifer from his body - Dean loses the will to live and asks Cas to end his life. He didn't want to live if his brother wasn't alive. What else was he fighting for? Cas tries to make him see the reasons he is needed and wanted... a confession the Angel has wanted to voice, but kept to himself until now. How will Dean react?
