job and Interview updates
Yesterday was called by the new contract owner, they made me an offer? Not that they said what position, or what I would be doing, they were just calling to make me an offer for X amount (a few thousand under my current ridiculously underpaid for my role salary) plus a sign on bonus to make up the difference.
Me: " I am really not comfortable with that offer, is that the best you can do?"
her: "um, uh, yeah" sounding both surprised and irritated.
Me: "Well, I am sorry, I just am not comfortable with that salary. But that you for your time" Click.
So..Really? I can be insulted by bigger companies then you! pthhhh!
However, find out from Amy that they had her slated for some assistant role, and her resume is very similar to mine. So maybe they were not trying to insult me? Maybe they were just offering me a job way beneath me?
Today I Drove out to Arlington for a job interview, which I NEVER do, so I had no idea where I was going and got lost...magically turned myself back around even tho i was on streets I have never seen and took exits by guessing?..but some how got there on time anyway but completely stressed out, and also sweaty (I have no A/C in the car cuz its broke, and so am I)
I thought it went just ok, lukewarm? ok, up until almost the end where I was insulted by it being suggested that I was really too young? for the salary I was asking for, and also.. shouldn't I be in school getting my degree? *head desk*
Back to my desk irritated as hell when I get a call requesting an interview for one of the govvie jobs I posted for :) I will be doing that Monday for lunch.
Interviews are good, we are at least going in the right direction?
