So... that was a flood.

It all seemed so harmless at first, but it quickly went downhill, didn't it?

I've got a question for you, actually. [Eddie disappears off screen, and comes back with a little piece of card, then holds it up to the camera. The card is a square of orange, much like a paint sample swatch ( Read more... )

surprisingly competent, complimentary colours, painting by numbers, won a prize for mustard, not a chromotologist really, secretly a victorian

Well, yes. But is it carrot orange?

It's the sort of orange a picture of a carrot might be, but I don't believe I have ever seen an actual carrot quite that shade.

...That's actually a very interesting perspective on it.

It is?

Yes.

The artificial colours never really were quite... natural.

I believe the idea is to make the product more appealing, so that you will want to buy it. Because it is more carrot-y than lesser carrots, for example.

I suppose that makes sense.

And it does happen - natural red doesn't look quite the same as what National Colour produce. But it's a very difficult thing to describe to anyone who doesn't see it.

Is it like how hairstyles in advertisements can never really be achieved by an actual person?

I imagine so.

Or more like trying to describe Vivaldi to someone who can't hear F major or minor.

I have heard something about the deaf being able to feel music, though. Through the vibrations.

...Really?

I suppose that makes sense.

Although, at home, certain colours can make certain music appear in your head. Not like you've heard it, but like you sense it.

Like that fellow at the brain hospital who could taste sounds!

needshumility April 27 2011, 22:19:26 UTC
...exactly like that, I imagine. Except I can hear colours, I guess.

Why was he in the hospital?

Reply

19centconstable April 27 2011, 22:25:00 UTC
Because he could taste sounds and such. It was more of a research hospital.

Did they keep him there?

Was he... a supernumary?
