MCA0: Late Sunday night

It's late, and it's dark, and Xander ought to be asleep. Even on a globe-hopping island, you can't party all night every night. He's got an office to open tomorrow. Calls to make, since his other business is finally picking up some speed again this summer.

He should be getting some rest -- it's not like the other person in his bed is keeping him

It's true, he'd fallen asleep almost as soon as his head hit the pillow. Only he'd expected Xander to follow, and so he makes a confused grumbling noise when he rolls over some time later, one arm searching out the warm body that ought to be sprawled next to him and finding only blankets and sheets.

"Right here," Xander says, scooting down and reaching out to touch his shoulder.

[bridge_carson]

"S'good," Bridge says sleepily, moving closer so that he's now got an armful of Xander instead of blankets. "S'better," he mumbles into the crook of Xander's neck.

[needsaparrot]

"Yeah." And it is. Not that it stops him thinking. It's just better this way.

Bridge, hovering between asleep and awake as he is, isn't really aware of Xander's thoughts beyond the glowing, warm feeling he associates with love that's always there. And even if he *were* more awake, he wouldn't think to pry and abuse the trust that Xander had placed in him, when he'd told Bridge he didn't need to ask permission.

"Missed this," he says. Not that he *hadn't* snuck out from the cabins a handful of times, but much less frequently than he had while still in the dorms.

"Me too." For longer than he ever wants to again, once.

[bridge_carson]

"Mmm," and with that, Bridge is asleep again.

[needsaparrot]

Xander, not so much. But at least he's smiling while he thinks.
