"Hey. So is this thing finally working?" she asked with a stern tone.

"Want to try it out and see?" Xander stood up and switched the room on, flipping to one of the scenarios that Willow had said should be ready to go. As the streets... well, street...of downtown Sunnydale sprang up around him, he blinked, not having realized this was the setting.

"Nice," Mel said grabbing a stake and marching into the suite. "Where should I start?"

Xander followed her in, looking around. "It's Sunnydale. At night. Pretty much behind any corner."

Mel took a look around and headed down what appeared to be an alley way where she could hear music.

"The Bronze?" she asked looking at the name of the club. "What kind of name is that?"

"The kind they give to the only club in town that lets high school students in," Xander answered, frowning over at it. "On the up side, it get some good bands. Downside, prime vampire hunting-grounds."

"Perfect," Mel said and pushed the door open to the club and started scanning for trouble.

Xander followed her in, dodging people who looked vaguely familiar, kind of like if someone had recreated your neighbors via police sketch-artist. "Upside, prime vampire-hunting grounds, yeah. If you're in the mood for that. You sound like you're in the mood for that."

"You could say that," Mel said scanning the upper level and spotting a few lurksome folk. "It's been one of those days. See any of them?"

"Maybe. See the guy near the second floor railing wearing original-style Air Jordans?" ....right, because somebody from hundreds of years in the future would know those from Birkenstocks.

"Is that like a jetpack?" Mel said looking confused.

Xander facepalmed. "Okay so my brilliant plan of passing on lessons fro Buffy 101, like 'check for out-of-date clothes' ? I'm beginning to see a flaw in it."

Mel looked at a couple of the guys on the upper level and then around at the other people.

"Him," Mel said with a nod. "The guy with the pail complexion, hair like a bird's nest and those stupid black and red shoes."

"Those would be the Air Jordans. No jetpacks. I'm guessingi t's a yes on the fangs, though."

Mel didn't waste much time and wasn't showing any signs of stealthiness.

She marched up the steps and right to the vampire and stabbed in him with the stake.

He disintegrated into a puff of bone-shaped dust, and the drink in his hand fell to the floor with a crash.

And Xander facepalmed when the girl who'd been dancing with him stared and screamed.
