Between his alternate self's son with Parker, some alternate Bridge's son with Marie, and the much more surprise appearance of a daughter who Xander was still having trouble believing was possible, he was operating completely on go-with-the-flow logic at this point.

There are...sounds... coming from the kitchen. Xander sits up slowly from the pile of blankets he's sharing with Bridge on the floor by the couch, rubs his good eye, and counts. One, two, three, Bridge.... ahhhh.

He quietly detangles himself and gets up to pad over there in his socks. "Is there a burgler in here?" he whispers, poking his nose into the kitchen.

Bronwyn is frowning up at the food replicator.

"The Synth'tron is different," she complains.

"Like the one in Bridge's room?" Xander asks, coming over to stand behind her. "Yeah, this one's different. I'm still trying to figure it out myself."

"Uh huh," Bronwyn nods. "The buttons is all in the wrong places. And the one for cupcakes is missing."

"I think maybe that one disappears after bedtime except in case of emergency," Xander says thoughtfully, studying the buttons. "You think this is an emergency situation?"

"Course it's a 'mergency," Bronwyn says. "I gotta have a cupcake and there aren't any! If that's not a 'mergency I dunno what is!"

"That's pretty convincing evidence," Xander tells her, fairly certain that he's going to Special Bad Parent Hell for this, except okay comparatively speaking maybe not. He dials up what he hopes is two vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting and not, say, bran muffins.

Also, two glasses of warm milk. "You gotta have balance, right?"

Bronwyn beams at him. "Yuh-huh! That's what Daddy always says."

Xander sets the food on the table and pulls out two chairs, carefully. "Shh." He holds a finger to his lips as he sits down on one of them.

Right, like she's going to go for the other *chair* when Daddy's lap is RIGHT THERE. So she scrambles up on his lap and reaches for her cupcake.

Xander blinks and then grins, scooting his chair in a little bit and sliding one arm around her so he can reach his cupcake too. "Did, um, your Daddy and I ever tell you about when we were little kids together?"

Bronwyn nods as she takes a big gulp of milk. "You didn't growed up together but you were teenagers and something made you little again for a weekend and you had 'ventures and got marrieds and Daddy wore a cape and then when you got marrieds for real you said there wasn't gonna be any capes thank you."

"No!" Bronwyn scrunches up her nose and tilts her head up to look at Xander. "Silly. Daddies don't wear dresses!"

"Some daddies might," Xander argues. "Like if they turned into a girl for a day. Or if they lost a bet. Or if it was really sparkly."

Bronwyn giggles at that. "There's pictures in our 'partment of when you got marrieds and you're not wearing a dress!" She points out.
