AU History
* Ven was born into a very well-off family, the oldest of a set of triplets - Ven, Sora, and Roxas. The family came into their fortune shortly before their birth - Ven's grandparents died and, instead of leaving the money to their oldest son, Xehanort, they left it all to Ven's parents.
* Unfortunately, this new fortune made his parents greedy, and they often neglected their sons. Eventually, the triplets were removed from their homes and placed in foster care.
* Soon, the three brothers were separated. Sora was adopted by a happy, loving home in the area, while Roxas was sent much farther away, and his brothers lost contact with him. Ven was sent to what, at first, seemed like a decent foster family. But, as it turned out, they weren't interested in raising him - they knew about his family's money, and intended to hold him for ransom. Ven spent several weeks locked in a closet while they tried to strike a deal with his non-responsive parents. Though his memories of the incident are vague, Ven has carried a fear of small, dark spaces ever sense.
* Shortly after this, Ven was removed from the care of the family in question and placed with his current family. The situation was vastly improved - though they were often busy, distracted, and generally disinterested, they were willing to provide Ven with the care and attention he needed to have a healthy childhood. It was around this time that he first met walkingastray, and the two were fast friends.
* When they were in elementary school, Ven was often bullied by a boy named Vanitas, who attended the same school as he and Terra. This progressed to far more serious bullying when they hit middle school, though the boys were more then willing to fight back.
* When Ven was about 13, Vanitas went so far as to kidnap Ven and lock him in a trunk as nothing more then a cruel joke. He was there all day, terrified, until Terra finally found him. The incident left Ven unresponsive for weeks - he only began to act normal again after a lot of interference from his friends.
* In high school, their rivalry became extremely serious. Many of the children were introduced to the idea of gangs. Soon, Terra and Ven found themselves at the head of one, though Terra was the one who handled most of the leadership.
* Aqua was originally in the gang, but had to quit when her parents were killed in an accident. She was forced to start working for a living at 16, to help take care of her 14-year-old brother, and a close friend of Ven's, Demyx. She did, however, take up sewing and first-aid training on the side, and her house is generally where Ven and Terra (and now and then, their other gang members) go when they get banged up to get healed and lectured about being more careful.
* Ven is 16, now, and finds himself focusing most of his energy on his friends. His parents don't keep close track of his activities, and he behaves well enough in school that he can get by without too much trouble (this is greatly helped by the fact that Terra's brother, Leon, is the sheriff). He keeps in regular contact with Sora, who, while not approving of his gang activities, understands that Ven can't bring himself to not be there for his friends. He also recently reunited with Roxas, after his best friend Namine was kidnapped and brought to the town they live in. Roxas came to rescue her, and Ven found him bloody and beaten after his first attempt. As it turned out, Roxas was sent to a very abusive home, and his only friend was Namine. Ven didn't let him go back - he instead did his very best to get them a living space, and now works his hardest to make sure they have enough money to stay.
