Everyday I learn something new about human beings at work. Today I became firghtingly aware of just how fragile a human is, not necessarily physically, I learned that a long time ago. The human spirit, mind, I suppose...a man died in a car accident because he didn't put his seat belt on and we did the burial, the family was traumatized, I mean the whole event was mental mutilation and torture and I suppose a point comes where some one can not take anymore, his wife just blacked out, out cold, collapsed, she lost consciousness. They had to tear his brother away from the casket and he got on his knees and cried while we lowered it, it wasn't just some tears either it was almost violent crying, if you can understand what I am saying. I have never seen people more torn, they opened the casket, they held his hands and I could not seperate them. It made me feel sick, I felt like such a terrible person because I had to put him away, it doesn't matter that he is cold and nonresponsive. They are attached to his shell that doesn't have a personality, a voice, a laugh, an opinion, nothing anymore but they would hold onto his corpse for eternity if they could. His mother held my hand and she crushed my fingers, It's soul consuming to watch people in this condition day after day, some you can help but these people...they were beyond help. What can you do? Honestly, love the people around you UNCONDITIONALLY and make sure they know it, NEVER LEAVE ANGRY, if I could tell everyone only one thing, thats it... and forgive, I have no right to preach forgiveness to anyone but I am learning, and the people I deal with every day are learning and you don't want to learn like this.
Enough, I know...everything has become so macabre in my life...
