Long-term update
It's been a long time since I've updated over here!
Academics and SCA together are keeping me completely swamped. Right now I'm trying to beat my academics into shape so I can afford the time for Lilies War.
Speaking of which, at the Lilies War I'll be running a Sword Workshop. We'll be making swords, as many as we can. That's a lot of pounding, but it should be fun. I'm bringing enough suitable steel for 14 swords, but I figure we'll finish at most 2. Student error will destroy a few, and bad weather will doubtless keep us from working on some days. We should also expect the potential for loss during heat treatment - it isn't uncommon when quenching long pieces like swords.
This should be fun, but the amount of my time it's taking pre-Lilies is just obscene, and with my doctoral program it's proving to be very painful. Tonight's likely to be a very late work night.
On the up side, I've gotten another one of my Lilies commitment knives done last night. 2 to go.
