It wasn't all that surprising that Caroline had taken off to go hang out with Bonnie, leaving Jake behind in an empty house. Normally, he'd go for a run, but he wasn't certain where he could go running and so he'd finished cleaning up the last of the boxes, had fussed over his bike for a while and finally ended up back in the kitchen. There were some cookies in the cupboard and Jake had grabbed some while he looked through the job ads in the paper. Just to get an idea what his options were in case those garages turned him down. Something he was getting more and more convinced of since neither of them actually were actively looking for someone to help out. Let alone someone without a real degree.

Maybe he'd end up cleaning tables in The Grill while trying not to want to kill Caroline's ex(es).
