It was tempting to just stay in bed today. For one, it meant Jake was allowed to be oblivious of anything strange going on as Caroline and him definitely were their normal size. Something they'd thoroughly appreciated and now there was the moment where they needed to figure out if they were going to continue to be lazy or they would actually get up

"Um, you could get back here," Caroline complained, stretching and reaching for something warm to cover herself with as there was a sudden drop in temperature once Jake was gone. "It's like freaking winter in here."

"I don't think it's that bad," he said, sounding amused. He padded over to her side of the bed and sat down on the edge, reaching out to straighten some of her hair.

She tugged her robe on, crinkling her nose at his comment. "You don't think a blizzard is that bad." It didn't stop her, however, from getting up on her knees and hooking her arms around his neck.

"This isn't a blizzard," he pointed out, grinning as he wrapped his arms around her and drew her closer. "And if it was, I'd keep you warm."

"You lie," she countered in his ear. "Because you totally would still leave me. Why are you getting up again?"

"I wouldn't leave you in a blizzard," he argued, rubbing his hands down her back to warm her up again. "I was going to try and find my shaving kit."

"Thinking of shaving off all your hair and being a bald wolf?" Caroline asked, smirking just a little as her fingertip traced the unfortunate-looking growth of stubble on his upper lip.

Jake hummed as his fingers curled around the sash of her robe. "Eyebrows and everything. Would you like that?"

"Oh yeah, totally hot. You'd make for an awesome swimmer for the month it took it all to start growing back," she teased, smirking up at him.

"I'd make for an awesome swimmer now too," he argued, tugging at the back of her sash. "You know, I'm going to start thinking you're actually liking my stubble the way you've been hiding my shaving kit."

"Like might be pushing it," she shared, lifting an eyebrow. "But I figured you should have the opportunity to decide for yourself rather than just doing what I want - even if what I want is best." Caroline couldn't help how that part slipped out under her breath. "Look, I'm trying to grow here and you should appreciate that."

"Babe," he reached up, cupping her face in his hands. "I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I kind of like it when I can kiss you without you starting to giggle."

"It's not my fault it's all scratchy and itchy!" Or that it made her laugh, hard as she tried not to.

"I know, babe," he laughed and rubbed his hands over her cheek as he leaned his forehead against hers. "So let me shave."

"Go ahead, I wasn't trying to stop you," she told him. And okay, maybe she'd shoved his kit in the way back of the wrong closet just to stop him from bending to her will since he'd been so upset about her disliking his stupid facial hair, but she never stopped him from looking for it.

Like he felt comfortable going through her things and he brushed his thumb over her cheekbone. "So where did you put it?"
